Again! Again! AGAIN!!Posted at 3:22 PM on May. 22, 2008
Excuse me for a moment.... (you might want to cover your ears) *Screams at the top of her lungs, dances crazily, and pinches herself* GUESS WHAT??!! We get to do Godspell AGAIN!! They said it was so awesome that we will get it perform it 3 more times in August! There was one little downside to it that I'm over now... it was going to be the same week that I had Summer Camp for my highschool youth group. And I was really (And I mean REALLY) looking forward to going this year :( But oh, well I'm over it and I am so excited for Godspell! It's gonna be awesome. Plus, I have a chance of getting a better part (such as a Dancer or a Diciple [I HIGHLY doubt I will get either, ecspecially the latter]) since some people can't do it. Anyways, when that happens I will try to come on and post info about it. But, until then - I probably won't write here much since there's no more play's until then... lol -- see ya! Oh, and comments are always appreciated. Spread the word. Ask questions. LOL ^_^

Okay, so after my last entry I got really busy with homework and preparing for my audition that I haven't written in a LONG time Anyways, here's a quick summary:

- I auditioned for and made Oliver as a Londoner (Background People/Chorus) - We only had a total of 12 rehearsals and 4 dress rehearsals - I ended up doing the Theater Gymnastics class and our showcase was AMAZING! I learned so many cool things like standing on people's shoulders (I'm a bit taller than 5 ft. and the guy I was paired up with was about 6 ft. so when I was standing on him and looking down I was at least 11 ft. off the ground -- it was super freaky!!) and different flips and a TON more things. If I could figure out how to get videos on here I would post the video of it =D - The whole experience was great but now it's over :( Our last show was last Saturday and so now we are going to have our "Strike Party" this coming Saturday.... well another year of CYT is over -- now we have the summer and then it starts back up AGAIN! So, our next show is Oliver and it's gonna be so amazing! I am hoping I can audition for it :) The auditions are like 2 weeks from now and I'm already nervous. I am pretty sure I will be taking a gymnastics class along with that because you have to be enrolled in one of their classes to audition and this session they are offering a gymnastics class and it's gonna be awesome. So yeah, I will update you whenever I can.......

Closing Night...... and....... PARTIES!!Posted at 11:35 AM on Feb. 23, 2008
Closing night eventually came........ unfortunately :( Everything went well during the shows and on closing night we had the best audience ever! It was so cool becuse they laughed at pretty much anything (that was supposed to be funny at least - like they didn't laugh when Jesus was dying but you know what I mean.......) and they clapped a lot! Which is always so encouraging :) So after the last show we always have a cast party. So I got to go this time and it was a lot of fun! I stayed until like 1:30 a.m. and had a blast!!! We danced (and we also did the electric slide!! yay!) and we ate and we partied and we talked and we cried and we rejoiced and yeah - it was just plain AMAZING!! Okay, so I was so busy with shows and homework that I haven't had time to write lately. Okay, so opening night was really awesome! It went well and I think everyone was amazed at how well we put it on. We even had the press come and put an article of us in the paper!!! It was really cool. Unfortunetly, during the last part of the show I guess a water main in the building we were performing at broke. The good thing was that it was far away from where were in the building. But still, they had to turn off all the water to fix it which meant no sprinklers so that would be a fire hazard and no one except the people fixing would be allowed into the building the next morning. So, we almost didn't have our Saturday shows the next day - but! Thank our good Lord in heaven that it was fixed by Saturday afternoon (which is the shortest it's ever taken them to fix a water main break!!) and so we were able to have our shows as scheduled except that we had to postpone the 1st show to 3 p.m. instead of 2 p.m. So yup! The first weekend was a blast and I wish I could do it again......

3rd Dress Rehearsal - Cancelled :(Posted at 5:00 PM on Feb. 6, 2008
So........ uhm - I don't know how to say this so I'm just gonna say it quick - OUR DRESS REHEARSAL IS CANCELLED!!!!! *breaks down in tears* OK...... well maybe it's not that bad..... but still - that's one less dress rehearsal to pratcice in the theater before the first show. So, I guess yesterday was our last dress rehearsal because were not having rehearsal tomorrow (unless they suddenly decide to) because that was when we were supposed to have school day shows but they were cancelled but we still were'nt going to have a rehearsal on that day. I hope we still do good on opening night!! It makes me kinda nervous. Plus I hope they don't schedule a rehearsal tomorrow because I have plans....... so ya. I'm definetly dissapointed.

2nd Dress Rehearsal - Done & Over WithPosted at 4:50 PM on Feb. 6, 2008
So our 2nd Dress Rehearsal is done and in the past now... there's nothing much to tell about it except that we were able to get through the whole play non-stop =) It came to a total length of 1 hr. 45 min. - that's really good considering it needs to be under 2 hours. There's been some sicknesses going around - I hope that I, and anyone else in CYT for that matter, don't get anything!!! By the first Rehearsal someone had already gotten sick and had to leave rehearsal early and go home. And then yesterday someone else didn't come because she was sick with the flu and the person sick from the previous day still wasn't better yet. So ya -- and our first performance is this Friday! *pinches self* OK.... this is real! So.... every time after the opening show we all go out to Bouna Beef and talk and eat ~ it's always such a blast. I can't wait until then! Well, that's all for now I guess....... bye!! So, we had our first Dress Rehearsal last night. It was tiring but very productive. We were able to get through the whole show! It is always so exciting when we get to finally perform on stage. Some photographers for newspapers also came and took pictures :) Luckily, we didn't need to put makeup on -- it's such a drag to put it on and take it off. Plus we have to put a lot on so it doesn't exactly look pretty.... Well, some people will get to -- like the angels, the get to put lots of shimmer and sparkles on! Lucky! The reason we put a lot on (in case your wondering) is so people in the audience (which goes back pretty far) can see our faces and it's not just blurs. Like we have to outline our mouths with pencils, make our eyebrows darker, put mascara and eyeliner on.... etc. Plus we get to wear lipstick and eyeshadow =) Well, that's pretty much all for now..... I'll write tomorrow about tonight's rehearsal. This time with makeup.... ugghhhh

Well, hello there! Here on this blog I will write about my theater life, as you can probably tell by now :) Currently I am in a play called Godspell through a program called Christian Youth Theater (CYT). Starting today we have dress rehearsals through Wednesday. Then we get a break on Thursday and our opening show will Friday! I am part of the chorus and it has been great! Our opening number is Switchfoot's Meant To Live and the dance is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I will write about how the dress rehearsals go later on......... (~Teags~)
