I have a date. And he and I are going canoeing and I am so excited! My boy’s have been twice in 2 weeks and while I am not complaining my S(3) and I have had a yummy picnic waiting for them both times. But I want a turn!! So I got a sitter. Yipeee!
Here’s a pic of the last trip down the river - celebrating J & Z birthday’s

I also wanted to introduce Skid.

Skid has been requested for 3 different birthday’s. He’s a huge hit. I wish I had him decorated with Skittles as I usually do in the rainbow fish pattern. But he doesn't travel well in heat - the skittles melt.
Isn’t he cute? Just a Rice Krispie treat squished into a fish pan.
Stacy asked about books -
I tend to have several books going at once. Here are the categories and current reads
* one on homeschooling or child raising - The Spiritual Power of a Mother by Michael Farris (HSLDA)
* one on health - I always’s have my nose in this book but especially right now because it is bug season - The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy by Valerie Ann Worwood (I’ll post an all natural mosquito repellant later. It works so good!!)
* one on bible/theology - Crunchy Cons by Rod Dreher - this is more christian living - it is entertaining & challenging & makes you think
* one fun read - I know that some people aren’t into Christian novels. And to be honest I never thought I would be either, but I have very much enjoyed several of Francine Rivers books. Currently I am listening to Redeeming Love on CD (borrowed from the library) while I run. This is such a great motivator to keep going because I have to see what happens next.
My last fun read was The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. I would describe it as a mans diary about winning his wifes heart back to him with a twist at the end. This isn’t labeled a christian novel - but it is clean.
I have really enjoyed these fun reads because it gives my mind a much needed break.
