Do the Next Thing

The first hour of realization

Five years ago today I was teaching TOPS Astronomy out on the porch and dh called to say, "Have you heard the news? You might want to go turn on the TV."

The kids and I went upstairs to my bedroom, turned on FOX news to see the second tower hit. We got down on our knees and began crying out to the Lord for mercy. We then read through Psalm 91 as a reminder of the Lord's faithfulness even through troubled times.

A friend called to ask how many gallons of milk I wanted, as she had run out to quickly buy some basic supplies. I met her at the street, grabbed my milk, and can still remember the look on her face, as we realized our heart-sickness over what was happening.

Dh called from the airport, and told me to get the kids downstairs in the basement. He also said the airport was closing and he was heading home.

About Me

I'm been married to a great guy for 27 years and have had the privilege of homeschooling two of my three kids. Our youngest is a senior. I love managing my home, and the creativity God has given me in all the tasks which come with this job. I have waaaay too many interests and hobbies, thus my web title. I serve a Lord who helps me discern the next thing to do, and I want to glorify Him in all I do.
