Do the Next Thing

Bittersweet

Today is the last day of class for my daughter in our homeschool group. We've been involved with this group for 14 years, and it seems like yesterday when this young lady was a preschooler.

We went to the gym together at 6:00 am, worked out, came home to read a couple chapters of Girl Talk, by Carolyn Mahaney, and soon we'll stop at Starbucks for a celebratory cup of coffee.

Just wanted to share this bittersweet moment with you.  God's been so faithful to her in so many ways, as she's grown in grace and beauty from the inside out.

With a tear rolling down my cheek,

Dana

May. 2, 2008 - Well done.......

Dana, I had much the same emotion, when Clancy shared that this was going to her last day attending classes at Homesteaders. Bittersweet is an apt description.

Dana you have been true to the homeschooling tradition. Teaching all subjects and doing it based on Godly principals. Thirteen years seems like along time. Nevertheless, who would have thought that when we decided to take the path to home school that this journey would have been this fulfilling? Moreover, we wonder where the time went.

As for the next season in your life, only God knows what is in store for you. Nevertheless, God has blessed our children with a wonderful teacher, mother, and me with a wonderful wife.
Love you, Michael

The time sure does fly by when you're having fun, doesn't it, Dana? C is such a lovely girl. I'm sure she will continue to be a tremendous blessing to her family throughout your lives.

I never noticed before how very much she looks like BOTH her parents, gorgeous girl!

What a day! I kind of look forward to that day of passage for my children - seeing them taking the steps toward adulthood, but at the same time, I know it will be hard to say goodbye to their childhood. Yes, it must be a bittersweet celebration for you today! I pray you'll be able to enjoy the coming weeks with her graduation, and that you can continue to look back on all the years you have had together with joy.

A milestone that you will all remember, and that she will be thankful for - for all her life, that you invested in her life, in this way.

What a wonderful, smiling testimony of the grace and goodness of the Lord! You must be so thankful!! I am also feeling those bittersweet emotions as our daughter, Anna is graduating from homeschool. I will MISS her as a student -- it has been a delight for 12 years to school her, as I'm sure it's been for you with your daughter. It's so wonderful to see the fruit from years of training and prayer and trust in God and the joy of releasing them as young, godly women!

Hugs -- {{{{{Dana}}}}}
