• Monday, March 27, 2006 - An Apology and a New Category on My Blog

I received an anonymous comment from someone that was upset about me spreading "The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge" button on people's blogs.  Because she left the comment as "Anonymous", I have no way addressing my response to her personally, but responded by posting a comment back.  (Please feel free to read the comment left by "anonymous" as well as my response.)

I also want to apologize to anyone that I may have offended or upset by posting the comment about The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge.  My intention (as I stated in my response to "Anonymous" was for us to join together as homeschoolers in an effort to clean up our homes and hearts, and by doing it together, offer encouragement to one another.  I in no way, meant to upset anyone.  If you are someone who received one of my comments on your blog to spread the word about the Challenge and were upset by it, please delete it from your comments and email me letting me know that you wouldn't like to receive anything like that anymore.  I know in the past I have sent out prayer requests to those on my friends list as well, and certainly don't want to think that I'm making people mad by doing so.

I'm also in the process of setting up a new category on my blog, "SISTERS & BROTHERS IN CHRIST".  Here I will list anyone who feels that our blogs can share an important ministry to each other through prayer requests or important information on bettering ourselves or our homes.  Our blogs can be a wonderful way to learn and grow from each other, as well as keep each other posted on urgent requests.  Those on the list are saying they don't mind a comment being left in order to spread the word about these types of subjects.  I will post more on this later so please check back if you're interested in being on this list so you can let me know.

Again, I apologize if I upset anyone and ask your forgiveness.
In Him,
Amy

Hi Amy,

Your blog has always inspired me and I enjoy visiting with you and learning so much... thank you for always sharing your thoughts and ideas with those that visit you.

May I share my thoughts with you regarding the "Tag Free" zone... I feel our personal blogs are to post what we want to share with others. While we visit others blogs we are more than welcomed to comment on what they have shared with us.

I believe the "anonymous" post that was left with you was asking you to contribute to their blogs thoughts and comments pretaining to their posts. Perhaps then others would not mind you posting your personal comments with them. I can't speak for others, but it is truly a give and take with blogging. You give a little of yourself to other fellow bloggers and they in turn enjoy visiting with you and that is how one becomes blessed to have "Friends" coming back again and again... hoping to receive the same from you over time *Ü*. That too is how friends "Spread the word..." regarding blogs they enjoy visiting... before you know it you begin to inspire and help so many *Ü*

I hope I made sense... as it is not my purpose to shy you away from posting with others.

Please feel free to e-mail me privately anytime...*Ü*.

Wishing You a Beautifully Blessed Week...

Deborah

Hi Amy,

Just wanted to give you some support here. I have never minded the comments alerting me to something going on, on your blog, or sharing a prayer request. I think you balance that well with commenting on what you've read as well. I think your solution is a good one for those that do mind. I hope you don't get discouraged. You are so inspiring and I really believe God is using you to minister here.

Blessings,

Amy,
I just wanted to say thanks for all your effots in getting the word out about your Clean Heart, Clean Home challenge. No doubt, you found yourself between a rock and a hard place regarding just HOW to get the word out to as many ladies as possible. I can understand that!! To simply post your "ad", meant possibly receiving negative comments about it; yet, to take the extra time to actually comment about someone's post in addition to sharing your challenge, well, I think we can all add up the time *that* would take.

I do want to thank you for the comment you left on MY blog. My daughter had just accepted the Lord as her personal savior and you commented as to how exciting the news was, in addition to sharing of your challenge. It made me smile to see that you DID take a moment to encourage me. :)

I think you have handled yourself brilliantly and am covering you in prayer as we embark on this challenge.

God's blessings be upon you,
Kimberly

please never feel bad about doing such in my comments section. also, please know that i never have ill will on the comments that I might delete. (if i've ever deleted comments of yours) i get such a wide range of comments on things, many on topic and many off topic that i try to keep the public comments on topic and delete the rest. not always, but sometimes. it is NOTHING personal, just my way of being the "editor in chief" of my blog. Please understand... I was not upset or wished you had not posted at all. By no means do I not want you to post. I enjoy receiving posts from you. I merely was commenting on what perhaps the others may of been thinking or trying to get across. Really it may not of been my place to do so... for that I am sorry. I just did not want you to feel you could not post with others due to mixed feelings on the subject. I enjoy receiving both responses to my posts as well as hearing from others ideas and such. With that being said... please continue to post with me... there are no feelings hurt or upset here... no apologies are necessary *Ü*.

I was hoping I did not come across as upset... sheeeesh... sometimes we can get our words all mixed up **giggles**.

Thank you Amy for sharing your thoughts with me... please know I am not upset okay sweetie...

Wishing you a blessed day...

Hi Amy, you can certainly put me on that list. I am so forever grateful for all the work and effort you put in to spreading the word about Emily and forgetting so many awesome people to commit to a prayer time. I love what you did for us and that you are doing this for others too. You inspire me and you uplift me. You are just one awesome sister in Christ and I would be proud if you put me on your list.

Lots of love and (((hugs))),

I can't join in with this venture because of traveling but I appriciated you including me!! Thanks for letting me know. I''ve already written to you to tell you what a blessing the Mother's trek and the SHMILY times have been in my home and once again I want to thank you for the suggestions and encouragement!!! I feel that your blog is a place to go and be reminded of what is really important that can get lost in the everyday busy-ness of homeschooling life!! It is an important ministry to me if no-one else (though I KNOW it is to many others as well). And a wonderfull oasis to come and be refreshed at. Thank you for taking the time out of your hectic life to minister to us and please don't be discouraged. One or two may have misunderstood your intentions, but we are not all upset!! Now please dry those tears sweetheart, and don't be upset! You may post anything on my blog anytime, so keep me on the list! With Love and Thanks for your friendship (from across the pond) - Deedee

I have so enjoyed your blogs, your merciful and thoughtful reminders to pray for other parents who are going through my worst nigtmare, AND your announcements that you are giving me the oportunity to learn even MORE from you!! Keep `em comin!

Seriously, I had one hour (and about a half) this valentines day with my dh between his classes and his job. You, single-handedly, inspired me to make the most of that hour and a half with him; complete with flowers, luminaries, dinner, & his favorite home-made dessert!!! The funniest part is that (with my children here with me) I had about 30 minutes to pull it all together. We held hands across a quiet candle-lit table and enjoyed each others company like we did when we were courting. It was so nice. If I never thanked you for you part in helping that happen...THANK YOU!

Have a great day and I am looking forward to April!
Take care!

You are a great source of encouragement, inspiration, courage and perseverance; your love for others and your willingness to share with all of us so frankly are traits I cherish in you.. NOT! I stuck your little magnet on my sidebar yesterday. I am proud to become apart of your challenge. You have ecouraged me SO much to become more orginized.

I wish I would have found my digital camera sooner, I would have taken before pics of the schoolroom, I'll take some pics and post them soon. If you want, I'll let you know when I do.

To tell you the truth, whenever you leave me a comment, I don't alwats link to the post right away (usually if I don't have time), but someone will leave me a comment later and I will see it, or I will see the same link on someone elses blog.....well, all I can say is the Lord has PERFECT timing. He knows when I need to read your post and they always seem to deal with something I'm struggling with, or something I can relate too, so for that I PTL!

One last thing, posting this was a courageous thing you did, you could have left that comment hidden and probably no one would have even seen it or noticed it. Have a blessed day:)

God Bless,
Amber

PS~ Looks to me that not many people minded with 80+ comments....now go relax and put your feet up and think of some more of your inspiring thought.

PPS~ The only comment of yours that I will delete is your apology, there is no need, and if someone reads it on my blog, they may actually think I'm offended or something and I have NO intention of anyone thinking that:) So it WILL be deleted!

Hi Amy, thanks for your comment on my blog. Please do not worry about offending me, in any way and at any time. If I don't respond to your comments or posts it is simply because I don't have time! If I ever had some kind of an issue with any of your comments I would contact you directly. Life is definitely in a busy season for me right now so I have not been able to respond to comments, or visit other people's blogs.. God Bless. Your blog has always been an encouragement to me. My 6 year old DD said to tell you she thinks the CHCHC is very good. I myself have been gearing up for it. The Bible speaks of uncleanness, so we need to address it. I am going to add you to my friends list so I can always be updated with anything you are sending. out.
I totally agree that our blog can be an instrument used for God, if we will all be in unity and allow it. Unity could build a great wall of prayer around our families. I'm all for others helping me fight off the enemy & keeping him from taking my family to hell.

Amy, I hope you don't get frustrated. I was not offended in the least. God has brought many different people to this one place online to connect. Some of the people here read, read, read and don't post. Others comment like mad to connect with people. Some are still timid in their posting and commenting. Some spend hours, some just a bit. For some people it is a journal, others something else. You are a person who loves to connect to large groups of people with encouraging information or prayer needs. We need people like you here. I don't know enough about designing a blog to do that, but I appreciate that you do. Maybe this person just desires more personal contact and response to her blog. It think it was a misunderstanding from two differing people with differing desires/needs in this blogging world. We are to live with each other, forbearing with each other, accepting each other. You have humbly done this in posting your apology. May God bless your heart to not offend!

I may not be excited about accepting the challenge, but I know I will be encouraged in the Lord doing it! Thanks for all of your time and effort in encouraging this homeschool community!

Life online is so fast paced. But I do when you stop over. and you also did comment on my blog entry once before so I just assumed you do read just dont always have something to say. And with a friends list as long as yours. how do we expect you to read them all and homeschool and keep a clean house while prenant! First off, BIG HUGZ! I consider you a cyber friend :) Friends ask for prayers when needed. I can go to your blog to see how things are going with you or even to Book Talk for that matter. I post things on my blog just to get them out of my head sometimes! LOL I do not need a response directly to my post. If I am asking for someones help or opinion then sure it would be nice to have a comment pertaining to that. I do not feel taht you are tagging people by offering a support group for cleaning and organizing. I do not feel that asking for praer from your friends is tagging them either. Remember, you will NEVER be able to please everyone! Make sure I am on that list for prayer requests and updates of any sort that you send out! Nothing to forgive on my part! "See" ya round girlfriend ;) IMO, you have never said or done anything out of line. Post on my blog anytime :)

Well I for one was totally ticked about this. I thought...there she goes again...sharing ideas and her heart with others. How could she? What is she thinking? And how come she gets all the great ideas and I don't? And I want the magnets anyway!
Seriously though...
Honey, press on with your ministry! You are doing just fine! And perhaps the person didn't mean to come across as it did. Maybe it was just trying to understand the whole "tagging" thing? Tagging and commenting aren't the same thing...right? I remember us both deciding to go "Tag Free" but that was from the "answer these questions and tag 5 others" activities only. I never thought it meant we couldn't comment about what we were doing on our blogs to other folks. I love knowing what is going on because I don't catch every entry from all my friends.
Praying for you and hoping you can feel how much we love you here!
Big Hugs,
Trish
