We're starting outside since that's what everyone sees as they drive by and what anyone sees when they come to your home. No matter what condition your house is in, it looks a thousand times better when the kids' toys are picked up and there isn't any "junk" lying around!
For those of us in colder climates, there may not be so much to do here for now (especially if you still have snow!), but do what you can for now, and by the time
The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge is over, you should be able to get to some of the things you can't get to now. As the snow melts in our area (Minnesota), we've begun to see garbage from the road, as well as toys that "slept" for the winter. My driveway is a disaster as well, and there's woodchips everywhere from hauling wood for our stove inside. There may not be a lot that I can do (touch up paint on the front door will have to wait for warmer days) but like I said, a little will go a long way in the outer appearance of my home and what my husband sees before he even enters the house.
To figure out what needs to be done, go outside far enough away from your house and evaluate it (don't forget to thank God for the warm shelter that He's provided while you're at it). This is not a time to decide to paint the house or that it needs shingles. You can write that down on your list if it's something you'd like to get done, but for now, you're just marking down what you CAN do (and we're on a time frame here).
Print out the detailed cleaning list for the vehicle by clicking on the following link.
FRONT YARDGo to you organizer and write in your "NOTES" section what needs to get done exactly so you don't forget, and when you've finished, be sure to mark the date. This will help you to remember when you took care of these things last and how often things need to get done around your home. If something can't get done for now, that's okay… do what you can and keep your list so you can remember what still needs to get done for one of those times when you can get to it.
