• Sunday, June 11, 2006 - A Little Time Away...

As I type this out... I hold a screaming inconsolable baby in my arms, and I'm faced with the reality that time can not be bought and I feel as though mine is needing more and more to be with my kids and the new adaptions that we're facing with another little blessing in our home.

I've been trying to blog, but it's just been too hard, and with The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge coming up again in July, moving things over to my additional blogs (A CLEAN HEART and S.H.M.I.L.Y. Time), as well as starting school for the summer, I just don't have enough spare time.

I just wanted you all to know that I'm alive and will continue to drop in here and there ( I still need to take care of those contests... a;lsjdf;lsdjf;aslfdj), but for now, things are just too crazy, and I have to take care of my family.  I hope you're all doing fine and will be back as soon as I can.  Blessings to you and yours.

In Him,
Amy

•Sunday, June 11, 2006 - Precious Memories... *Ü*

Today are precious memories you are creating with your family...Enjoy this time... embrace it... for all it's blessings are a gift from above!!! To hurry them along to get everything done is time you will never get back. Sit and reflect...continue to pray... it will ease your load... *Ü*

Allow things to settle down and then you can add more to your plate. Doing too much takes the joy and meaning away from it all. God is in control of everything... seek Him in all things.

Wishing you a "Beautiully Blessed" week ahead...

**Hugs**

Bless you, Amy. Will be praying for you. These are days that slip by so quickly; enjoy your baby!

As to the screaming... my babies could not stomach it when I ate broccoli, chili powder, or (sadly) chocolate, among other things. Also, with dairy allergies in our family, a couple of ours had colic when I drank milk or used any kind of dairy product that wasn't cultured. Don't know if that info might help you or not.

In Him,
Jean

seasons come and seasons go
'tis the season to let go
there will be time to chat again
children need you when in pain

seasons come and seasons go
don't try to do to squeeze every drop
God knows what you can do
He cares so much for you
let Him guide you in all things
friends are old enough to wait
babies just howl

May the peace of the Lord and His deep wisdom be yours. Take care my friend. Don't let us hold you up. Keeping you and your family in prayer.

God bless.

Don't worry about us Amy just take care of your family! I know what an adjustment it is to have brand new little family memeber in your life. As fun and as exciting and wonderful and amazing as it is it's still a lot of work.

It was weird after having my 3rd and I wondered so many times how we were all going to adjust to having a new little person in our lives. Soon enough though everything just fell into place and things are amazing and wonderful! So don't worry you'll find your groove (as you well know!)!

I discovered your blog just days after your precious new one was born and the thought went through my mind, "How in the world is she going to keep up a blog with a brand new baby?!!" And then you added ANOTHER blog! "She must be a super woman!" You are very special, Amy, but I am really relieved to discover you are NOT SuperWoman and are merely mortal like the rest of us. ;)

Take care and God bless.

Amy, of course you need to do whatever you need to do! :-) That little one will only be little for a small amount of time. You already know that, of course. So enjoy yourself. I really think you'll feel better *without* feeling pressured to work on anything outside of your relationships in your precious family for awhile! We appreciate you.

Amy,
Take your time...... You are setting your priorities well. Your family comes before your blogging. We'll still be here when things begin to balance out for you. We'll look forward to reading your thoughts.
Until then, take care of the most important things first.

Blessings to you and your family,

Christy :)

We all understand the pressure of a new born. Please know that we all love you and are praying the the peace of God will be with you. That you will take care of your most important prorities first. Homeschool blogger can wait. Kids and babies grow up so fast, I am allways thinking... In 30 years will I regret not spending more quality time with my son?

There were many, MANY things I 'put aside' when my children were younger; sewing projects (the whole sewing machine, actually), crafts, books I wanted to get lost in.....and it was all worth it. Truly. I wouldn't have changed anything for the world. Now, I'm doing it all over again the second time around....but it will still all be there when the time is right.

Amy,

I was just having this conversation with a friend (a single dad- wife died recently) who is trying to prioritize. He is trying to learn to juggle the children, work, housekeeping, and maintain a life. It is impossible to do it all, ALL the time. Sometimes, you have to let go of the less important things.

Your priorities are in the right place. We will miss you but we will understand that FAMILY must come first.

Enjoy some well-deserved down time! OK, so you probably don't get much down time, but at least try! The newborn days go by entirely to quickly, you have to slow down and enjoy every moment :O)

...we appriciate soooo much all that you do here on the HSB! And you will certainly be missed for a time. But once again you are teaching us an important lesson even in this decision - to re-evaluate our time spent on here and to make sure that our families aren't missing out because of outr time spent on here!!!! Take a break and enjoy this precious time!!! Don't miss a minute of it. Store up these special memories, and don't worry, we will all be here when your time and schedule allow you to return to us! With Love and Prayers and many thanks, Deedee

Congrats on your wee one! And... I looked back and can't see when he was born. My baby, Chloie, was born on May 28th and I am sure that your little guy wasn't born much before then.

Wow! You have a ton of energy for just having had a baby. Me... I feel like it takes everything I have to deal with the day to day -- I am not ready to make plans for anything beyond what we are already doing. Maybe you could loan me some of your energy!!

Blessings to you and yours! ~Beckie

•Thursday, June 15, 2006 - Rocket Phonics

Posted by Homeschooling6
Hi Amy-
Just thought I would comment of RF. I have been using it with Josh who just turned 8yrs. and will be in third grade this fall. He enjoys the lesson and I think getting away from all those phonics rules has helped. He has improved, though we do have our days. I have noticed that he does not do to well when he has been in the same room as his younger sister Annette, when she does her reading lesson. She reads better then he does and has been continuing on with her Rod & Staff, so he feels like he is behind.(they were doing the same books) He can't wait to start R&S so he could catch up with her. But if he does not see her do her lesson he does better.
Back to Rocket Phonics; I think it is worth a shot. Josh has improved.
You might want to check out this site also, I just found it today and ordered a few things. www.spelling.org. It says spelling but it has lots of reading stuff too.

Hi. Please pray for Chrissy and her mum. Her blog's name is

Please read her most recent post below and go to her blog to encourage her. Thanks and God bless.:

Jun. 22, 2006 - Prayers Please

Had a phone call frrom my sister earlier this evening - seems that my Mum was taken into hospital this morning. They say that she has had a mild heart-attack. Not a lot else I can tell you at the moment........also not much that I can do, as I'm seeing the neurosurgeon in the morning myself! My parents live quite a distance from us (about a two hour journey), so it's not easy to just get up and go over there. My sis is going to keep me updated and I've warned her not to tell Mum that I'm seeing the doctor in the morning - don't want to add to her worries! I've got a number for my Mum's phone at the hospital, so I'll ring her later tomorrow when everything at this end is done and dusted. Off to bed now before I fall asleep at the desk!

Blessings from
