With our school year fast approaching, I've
been busy getting school stuff ready, as well as trying to get the
house in order to begin a "fresh start". There's so much to do,
and the days just aren't long enough... It seems as though, just when
headway is being made, it's time to stop, feed another mouth and clean
up the kitchen again. It's all I can do just to keep up with
laundry, so with all of this "added pressure" on my part, it's easy for
one to see how I would deem scraping and painting the garage door and
trim on the house, something that would
"need" to get done...

Okay... I got side-tracked...
Friday rolled around, and I have no idea what I was thinking (obviously
I wasn't). I'd like to blame the absence of cognitive
thinking, however, I had to drive to the store to buy a scraper and paint, so I'll have to use "insanity" (the absence of cognitive
reasoning)
on this one! My husband affectionately refers to the term
"cockamamie" as a "cocka-AMY" scheme when I'm involved (yes, my name is
Amy, and I know it says it with all the love in the world

).
God was merciful though, and even though I started just before "nap
time" for my little ones on Friday, I was done by Saturday evening... I
mean... scraping, priming (only the spots that needed it... which
really was
the entire garage door) and two coats of paint. I was so excited
that it got done, and it looks 110% better. It's really amazing what
paint can do to make something look good again. I'm really glad
that I did it, but now need to get back on track and finish getting
ready for school. The stucco house still needs touching up, but that
will have to wait until another time when I'm more than behind and
needing something to completely derverge my attention!

Wednesday, August 24, 2005 - Hehe!
Oh, what was I supposed to be doing this week? Cleaning/organizing/preparing my school room! Now, that would be more logical, wouldn't it? Thing is, if I don't do this other project now, I fear it will never get done.
