• Saturday, December 30, 2006 - Cry Out to Jesus 2006-2007

I was listening to the radio the other day, and one of my favorite songs came on sung by Third Day.  I've heard the song many times, however, this time I actually had to sit down because I was crying.  As I listened to the words, I was overcome by the hurts of some of those I know suffered an extreme loss, suffering or pain in 2006.

I know that I can't "fix" these people's hurts.  I don't know if I will ever meet these people to tell them how they've impacted my life so greatly.   I wonder what 2007 will bring for these lives that are hurting... and I think about how they enter a new year... in a way they never planned.

I asked the Lord how I could help so many people around the world...
Pray together in my name...

Please join in prayer for the hurting people around the world on New Year's Eve as we say good-bye to 2006 and enter into 2007.  If you know of someone hurting, please share it on your blog (it can also be yourself).  Be sure to link to this page, which will have the links of others who have shared as well.  (The list will be another link from this page.)  You can also put the CRY OUT TO JESUS button on your post to help spread the word.

There are many ways you can pray and go about this.  As for me and my family, I plan on taking the opportunity before midnight on the 31st to play "Cry Out to Jesus" for my older children (who will still be awake) to listen to.  Then at midnight, we will join in prayer for the people I read about over the next couple of days.  (As I read the stories, I will keep a list of the names or families on the fridge so I will remember on the 31st to pray for them.  I've made a PRAYER LIST for you to write the names on if you'd like.)  Because of the late start, I also plan on continuing to pray over the first week in January.

It's a big world, but it gets smaller with each heart that connects... thank you for praying.

Cry Out To Jesus
Words by Mac Powell / Music by Third Day

To everyone who's lost someone they love
Long before it was their time
You feel like the days you had were not enough
when you said goodbye

And to all of the people with burdens and pains
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there's nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith in love
They've done all they can to make it right again
Still it's not enough

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering

When your lonely
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus

To the widow who struggles with being alone
Wiping the tears from her eyes
For the children around the world without a home
Say a prayer tonight

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

A friend of mine and I have done Cry Out to Jesus for concerts and revivals. I knew it was a powerful song. Before starting to learn it, I bought the Wherever You Are CD by Third Day. We ended up doing Mountain of God also, and now would like to do others. In September of '06 my niece Rebecca Jo Taber, 19, was killed in an automobile accident. She was a believer. I gave the CD to her mom in November as a Birthday present. Please continue to pray for the Tabers. They need to make Christ the center of thier hearts and home.
Blessings, and happy homeschooling!

I'M "JUST" A MOM...
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
