• Saturday, October 6, 2007 - Getting ready for the holidays!

So, I just "happened" to come across something I purchased, downloaded and forgot about today, and I HAD to share it with everyone.  It's a 12-WEEK HOLIDAY PLANNER FOR THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY by Sherri Graham with a Holiday Timetable from Marilyn Moll (The Urban Homemaker) and Jesse Tree Devotional by my dear friend Ann Voskamp (Holy Experience), which is why I originally purchased the planner.  The Old Schoolhouse Store is now offering a combo set, adding Marilyn Moll's Holiday Open House e-book as well (which is only $2 more than just the 12-Week Holiday Planner)!

This combo set is $14.95 and can be used year after year!  And, you save almost $12 by buying it in this package rather than purchasing these wonderful ebooks separately!  Just click on the link above to check it out!

I'm so excited because it's set to start the 3rd of October (I know I'm behind, but what's new) and runs weekly (so I'm printing it out and checking it out today).  It looks really great and so I will try to keep everyone updated on how I'm doing.  If you decide to do it as well, please let me know and we can encourage each other!  The holidays are always a hectic time for me and each year I say I'm going to do it differently, but somehow it just never seems to happen and I get so discouraged.  I want my home to be something the kids remember as being so joyous during the holidays and remember all the time we spent making and baking things together.

So, that's my goal for this year's holiday season...

Still Seeking,
Amy

UPDATE:  I just got done printing out my planner, and I would suggest after you download the planner to read the Introduction BEFORE printing out the planner.  There are some things better printed one-sided, while some others you can print two-sided to save on paper.  If you sit down and put the pages in your binder while you print, you can see what you need and how you would like it to look.

I checked this out last year, but did not purchase. I have been thinking about it again this year, but didnt want it to be another "thing" I had to do. After reading your post, I went ahead and bought it. I am printing it all up now ( or I'd forget about it next week), it looks great. Even if I only use/do some of the things I think it will be very beneficial for my whole family!

Thanks,
Lori

What a neat book! I LOVE planners and after reading your review as well as looking at some sample pages at TOS, I sheepishly asked my dh what he thought (interpreted...Pleeeeaaasssee honey!!). He thought it looked like a great resource and I printed it up last night after church. I could barely keep my eyes open, but just had to lay in bed and thumb through every page. I went to sleep thinking of Christmas plans and will begin filling things in this evening when the chitlins are in bed. Thank you for sharing such a helpful book!

That looks really neat! I'm going to have to check it out. I don't like the holiday's to be hectic, either, and would love to be totally organized by the time they roll around. Thank you for sharing about this!
God bless ~ Julie

A little late, but I'm in nonetheless. It's printing now. I'd love to touch base here and there and motivate each other. What do you say, Amy?

I enjoyed thumbing through your blog. You have a delightful spirit. I too purchased this book last year. And though I was late getting it it helped me a lot. This year I am better. Let me know how your qwest goes. Lori
