Start a new tradition in your home by giving thanks from November 1st until Thanksgiving Day! From today until Thanksgiving, make it a point to be thankful in all things, every day and begin to focus on the many blessings in your life. Now, I realize that there are people from all over the globe, so for those of you that don't have a "Thanksgiving Day" on the 22nd, please join us in giving thanks to the One who gives good things! No matter where we are, or what time of year it is, it's always a good time to focus on our blessings!
If you make a post on your blog about being thankful (either by writing a list, sharing a tradition, journal entry from the past or idea to keep us focused on giving thanks, etc.), please put the GIVING THANKS EVERY DAY button on your post linking it back to this post so others can do the same! Also, be sure to leave a comment telling us so we can stop by! (I understand that those of you from outside of homeschoolblogger.com have a more difficult time in commenting, but I'm working on that. For now, please leave your full blog address so we can get there!)
Also, I've put together twenty-two suggested verses on giving thanks to use for prayer, devotions, or conversation starters around the family table. (Click on the following link to get the PDF check off list to print out to help you focus on being thankful leading up to Thanksgiving Day.)
COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING DAY
Things in our life are still crazy, hectic, and completely unsure. But even though I don't know what tomorrow holds, I know Who holds tomorrow... and in that I will give thanks! I'm excited to see what wonderful things happen as the Verlennich household fervently seeks to "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances..." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NCV)!
Still Seeking,
