• Friday, November 9, 2007 - Day Nine... Miracles

God of All Glory,
Today I thank You for all the glorious things You've created that I so often overlook.  There are so many that I take for granted, yet You have taken time to the smallest of details to prove Your greatness.  The green grass I lay in with my children to watch the clouds in the sky, the smell after a summer rain, the wind in the cool of fall, the huge snow fakes falling in winter from the sky the shade of pink, a rainbow after a storm, the various colors, smells and shapes of flowers, the sound of waves crashing on the beach, watching white caps on the water at dusk from the shore, the sound of grasshoppers and frogs on a summer's night, a willow tree large enough to serve as a "playhouse" for my children, a bright red maple tree or burning bush in the fall, colored rocks, dandelion bouquets, the sound of wind blowing through the trees, the northern lights dancing across the sky, a meteor shower, a full moon, a lightning & thunder storm, a sunrise full of pink, orange and purple clouds, blizzards (while inside by a fire), lightning bugs, the dragon flies my boys catch (and frogs, snakes, butterflies, skinks, salamanders, etc!), the smell of "outside" after I've hung my sheets on the line, and the warm sunshine are only a few of Your great works displayed.

Lord, I also want to thank You for the miracles in my life:  Changing my heart to be a mother...  protecting my second pregnancy through shingles, and then his birth after coming out not breathing... my third child being spared from a blood transfusion after she was born having jaundice so bad... saving my marriage and restoring it... my husband becoming a man after Your heart... my fourth child not having to be under the bili-lights for jaundice (our first child to not need it and we didn't have medical insurance at the time)... my first son's foot okay after stepping on a wire that went all the way to the bone (and being with him so strongly that he didn't even cry)... protecting my fifth pregnancy throughout an unexplained stomach pain (for three days in the hospital) and then a miraculous recovery... my husband taking online college courses for ministry at Your leading (and his following)... bringing my step-son to live with us for two years... my sixth baby turning around after being breech and ready for delivery... my youngest son's hand without a cut (only a little indent) after being wedged in bike gears (they went right in between the bones)... Your protection over my second son who is "all boy" and has been spared from any number of possible "owees"... paying off our Suburban... renewing our marriage (again)... calling us into full-time ministry (and us listening)... Your provision through people when we've needed it the most in the form of so many things (food, gift certificates, clothing, gas cards, and even an all expense paid vacation for our family)... the birth of each of our children... and the conception of yet another... Lord, there are so many ways in which You have shown Your greatness through miracles in our life, and I know even now as I struggle to find the answers for our hardships right now... I remember each of these miracles with warmth in my heart and steadfastness in You.  You are a God of miracles... Your plans for us are many... Thank You Heavenly Father... You are so good.

Psalm 40
Lord my God, you have done many miracles.
Your plans for us are many.
If I tried to tell them all,
there would be too many to count.
