• Tuesday, November 13, 2007 - Day Thirteen... Serving God's Kingdom
Giver of All Good Things,
I thank You today for the opportunity to serve You through the church. When I began getting involved at church 9 1/2 years ago, I began to see the pleasure it was to help the body of Christ. Then, a year ago, You called us to the Cushing Baptist Church, where we went to serve as "missionaries" for a year. Our goal was to do what was needed to grow Your kingdom in that area, and serving took on an even bigger meaning. In a very small traditional church, we were challenged to use every gift You've given us as well as well as learning how to make do in areas that weren't easy for us. We've learned more about the demands the ministry brings, as well as the many blessings. Through it, we've learned so much about the privilege of serving You by serving others. It hasn't always been easy... Lord, there have been moments where I have wondered how I could go on... and how I could ever fulfill everything that needed to be done... yet You never left.
Now, You call us to more service as You close the door on one road and reveal another. Lord, I still may question why me?... why us?... I have struggled so many times on being "just" a woman of God, supportive wife of a business owner/worship leader/full-time college student, and full-time-stay-at-home-homeschool mom. I can't imagine adding to that already full list... but Lord, I can't help but drop to my knees in the awe of Your plan. You took a filthy young woman, and cleansed my heart through blessings and trails in such a way that I can find myself doing nothing else but praising You and submitting my life to You... over and over again.
Lord, I never again want to be apart from You... I never again want to go back. And so, I look to You to lead me into the unknown... where You are... and where You planned for me to be. Thank You for choosing me Lord... thank You. May Your kingdom grow. Renew the church Lord... shake us up so we will remember that it's all about You... what an awesome responsibility it is to share the gospel by words AND actions. May the church be a place that welcomes all of Your people... so everything that has breath will praise You Lord!
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striv- ing to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have child- ren), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
