• Monday, November 19, 2007 - Day Nineteen... God's Provision

Constant Provider,
Today I thank You for the way You've continually provided for us.  There have been times when You've provided in ways we didn't understand, yet it still was an answer to our prayers.  I have been amazed at how people we never even know of, came out of no where to bless us without ever really knowing how badly we were in need of their gift.  You are so good.

I want to specifically thank You for a few of the ways You've provided for us over the past several months...  Thank You for the money we've received... in amounts that have brought us to tears and humbled us.  Thank You for the gift certificate for gas... what an amazing and practical thing for a family driving over 20 miles to church every Sunday, and what a burden lifted!  Thank You for all of the food Lord.  It's come by a gallon of milk, and in multiple bags of groceries... but it has always come.  Why was I amazed when we were out of milk for days and I finally asked You, that someone just happened to drop off a gallon?  I'm so sorry for my unfaithfulness.  You truly are amazing.  Lord, You have even surprised me with "special" little indulgences that people have brought like Butterfingers, chai tea (de-caf even!), chips, smelly candles or gift certificates to shop for clothing for the family.  Thank You Lord for the couple that even bought me a new pair of tennies!  Lord, You have remained faithful... even when I have not.  Thank You for loving us and never forgetting us.  Thank You for the wisdom and encouragement we've received from others as well.  We have been so blessed in knowing there are so many bringing prayers to You on our behalf, and despite our circumstances, support and stand behind us lifting us to You.
I ask You to bless those generous hearts Lord.  May those who have given to us have it returned to them many times over.

Oh how You have blessed us through all of these trying times Lord!  I can even say You have blessed us WITH these trying times, for through them we have learned so much about ourselves, each other, and You.  I don't know what tomorrow will bring... but I rest assured in Your provision through it all.  I know that it will not be easy, but I know that through it, You will take care of us.  I know this Lord... I truly do.
You didn't need to, but You've proven it over and over again.  I pray not to forget it... not to doubt it... ever again.

Isn't amazing that we sometimes forget how God has provided for us in the past. You think that once we knew he was faithful we would, well, know. Thanks for the reminder. I agree, may we never forget that God is so good and faithful.

What a blessed post Amy! Write down those ways the Lord provides...It will be an encouragement to you and a great blessing for your children to read someday.
I was praying for your husband as he preached yesterday and was so excited to see you had a link to his message. I listened to the first 12 minutes until I had to go fix supper and give baths, devotions, tuck little ones in bed ect..., but I can't wait to hear the rest. I'm sure you must be so proud of him; I will continue to pray as you seek the Lord's will and answer His calling of going into full time ministry. The harvest is plentiful and the laborers so very few. Have a blessed Thanksgiving~
love,
