• Thursday, November 22, 2007 - Day Twenty-Two... Jesus
Dear Father God,
Today I thank You for sending Your son to pay for my sins... what He did is unimaginable... and I shake at the greatness of it all. There is so much to the story from His birth to His death... and yet, when we read about it the Bible, years pass by with the turn of a page and we forget the depth to which this story goes. Lord, as I watched the video clip of someone's idea of what happened on the day of His death, I know there is so much more than we see... so much more than we know... but what we do know cannot be twisted. Jesus came to die for the sins of the world... and He took every last one so that we might one day choose You over everything in the world... so that we might make You Lord over our lives... Savior of our hearts... and be with You one day in heaven. A gift so great... to so many... How awesome are You, O God... how vast are Your plans... that You would defeat the enemy through the death and resurrection of Jesus! Praise You God! I look forward to the day when I will see You face to face and stand in Your glory. I also want to thank You for the past 21 days of giving thanks to You... I have been blessed by doing it. By taking the time to purposely focus on Your goodness in my life, it's been hard to fall into the pit of despair. I've still had my moments... but I can see now that when truly putting an effort to be thankful and give praises to You in all circumstances, life on earth becomes almost "heavenly". Help me Lord, to continue to give You thanks and praise... that I would find new ways to thank You every day and that I would praise You through every situation... joyful or difficult. Thank You Lord... thank You for the many blessings You've showered on me... thank You for loving me... thank You Lord... for everything... thank You Jesus... thank You...
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

The following video is from the PASSION and so there are disturbing scenes... but I had to share... I can't sit through this without sobbing and thanking God for His sacrifice and grace. It's overwhelming...
Dear Amy, thank you for encouraging us to give thanks this month! Thank you for showing us a better way to focus on all that God has blessed us with in our lives! May you and your family have a very blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderful time of refreshing together! (((HUGS)))
I have so enjoyed and been blessed by your posts leading up to this day. Thank you so much for sharing~the Lord has used you to help me remember many of His benefits.
I prayed for your family this morning~ May the Lord continue to guide and bless you as you seek Him. May you have a blessed Thanksgiving together!

We have been sharing what we are thankful for during our family devotion time. Last night I and my husband were amazed at all of the things our children were saying. It was a wonderful ending to a very blessed holiday. We are still praying for you. Our lives may be changing again. Looks like our home will be up for sale in January. I am currently saying Ph 4:13 in my mind , otherwise I think I will feel completely overwhelmed.
I love your blog & read it daily. I find you very inspirational. I have a question about a comment you made & I hope you don't find this question too intrusive. You have mentioned many times of financial struggles(as we all have in our life) and you have stated that when you were out of milk for days the Lord sent someone to supply that particular need. You used that example as well as others. I think that is fabulous & that has happened to us as well. My question is this: Why not just go & buy that milk you need and charge it to your credit card? Do you think that is not allowing God to move? Please this is not judgemental on my part, it's just I've had to charge many of things I desperately needed. Should I have waited on the Lord. This is so hard & financially times are hard for us right now. Surviving on 1 income is next to impossible these days.Charging is easier than waiting on the Lord. And sometimes going without is just not an option, especially when charging as opposed to going without is just easier. Now, I am not talking about charging extravagant things, mostly necessities.
Thank you for your time & interest in responding.
'Giving Thanks for Everything'...
How wonderful to not just think it or pray it but to actually write it.
I should be writing my blessings each day...
I believe it would be a blessing to do that!
Amen! Thank you for posting. I love the "Countdown To Thanksgiving" idea. We'll have to implement that next year with our family.
We have a decorative box that sits on top of our mantle that we put Thanksgivings in all during the year and then take them out and read them on Thanksgiving day.
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striv- ing to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have child- ren), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
