• Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - A BABY IS FINALLY HERE... AND ANOTHER ONE IS ON THE WAY?

Well, my sister FINALLY had her baby at 12:02am!  Noah Benjamin and mom are doing well... tired... but good.  He was 6lbs. 3oz. so just a little peanut!  I'm so excited for when I can finally meet him!

On another BABY note... I started having contractions at around 4am that I had to "breathe through" and so I figured it was a good time to get my hospital bags packed!  a;lskdjf;aslkjdf;asldkj;aslkdjf;asdklfj  Mike woke up at 5am to the bag on the bed saying, "Uh... do you want to tell me about this?"  I had some more contractions after that, but they were almost 13 minutes apart and so I crawled into bed and fell back asleep until 7am, when I woke up to another strong contraction.  I didn't have another one until almost 30 minutes later, but again, strong enough that I called my mom to see if she would be able to miss work.  However, I didn't have another contraction until 8am and then they began to lessen in pain...

So, Mike is at work a half hour away and I told my mom to go to work as well (20 min away) because Mike would have to get home before she could come anyway.  My contractions are more like they've been over the past week and so I'm no longer convinced that today will be the day (as I felt this morning when I was packing my bags).  I do know that that can change relatively fast for me though.  Mike has his cell phone for me to reach him at any point and the plan for the day is to "hang out" with the kids.

I'll keep you posted as things develop... oh... there's another contraction.  I 'spose I should start thinking of a name now too?

Still Seeking,
Amy

UPDATE AS OF 12:14pm:  So the contractions have subsided.  One here and there, but nothing to get "excited" about.  I'm going to lay the little ones down now for naps and take one myself just in case things go into full swing tonight (I know I would be tired).

UPDATE AS OF 3:15pm:  I got a nice nap.  I just called my doctor to let him know that I'd been having contractions and that they could start again tonight.  He has the day off tomorrow, so it was good for him to know.  I'm glad that Mike went to work today, as well as my mom.  I keep thinking I should be cleaning my house or something, but I just have no energy to do it.  The kids and I are going to sit and have popcorn and watch a movie now.  I will update when there's something to say... for now, things are "too good" if ya know what I mean.

I hope things are happening for "real" by now! Praying for all to go well. And congratulations to your sister. My younger sister is due to have her first in a month as well, and it's been fun to get to be pregnant together.
Bless you!
