So, "just for fun" I will be posting some SHMILY challenges throughout the month to help you to show your husband how much you love him... they won't be every day and you can do them at any time.
CHALLENGE #3
Chapter 5 (His Affection) helped us to realize how important affection is to a woman... and also showed us that a man can truly love his wife, and still not know how to show it. This "challenge" involves some "work" for both you and your husband, and will help to know what makes each other feel loved.
Make a list of all the things your husband does or has done that make you feel loved. DO NOT make a list of things you would LIKE your husband to do. This is a list that shows him the things he already has done that you feel loved when he does them. (When I did this and showed my husband, his first response was, "I already do these things." I said, "Exactly... it's just a list of stuff you do that make me feel loved." All the "pressure" was removed because I wasn't giving him a list of anything impossible... even though some things hadn't been done for awhile... he still had done them at one point in time and the list showed him that, not only did I like him to do them, but it made me feel loved when he did.)
Ask your husband to do the same. By him making a list, YOU will know what makes HIM feel loved and that's the REAL ticket to this challenge! This will make it easier for you to know some of the things your husband loves for you to do, and would be especially helpful when he's struggling or being attacked by the enemy (Chapter 7 - His Mind).
Now, share your lists with each other... he may not do everything on the list... he may do nothing. If he reads it, he will know and that's where you have to leave it. But YOUR list from him... you can begin doing that right away! When things are tough and you begin to think thoughts like, "why isn't he doing anything for me?"... remember to go back and pray for "His Wife" (chapter one). Do the right thing no matter what and you will be blessed!

Thanks Amy.... I like the list idea. I have been making it a point (more so lately) to let Al know when I appreciate something he does or how he handles some things.
I know that it is easy for both men and women to think that the other one know how much we appreciate certain things - but I know how much I appeciate just hearing it sometimes and believe that he does too.
Still reading todays chapter - I am bogged down with interviews but trying to squeeze it when I have breaks between.
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
