• Saturday, June 20, 2009 - Challenge #5 - Loving him like HE would like...
So, "just for fun" I will be posting some SHMILY challenges throughout the month to help you to show your husband how much you love him... they won't be every day and you can do them at any time.
CHALLENGE #5
With Father's Day coming here in the United States, Chapter 18 (His Fatherhood) was "timely" to get me thinking about the day set aside to honor fathers. Unfortunately, the day can come and go with the best of intentions from us wives, but at the end of the day, did we do what we thought WE would've liked for Mother's Day, or did we really treat him the way HE would have liked?
This year, spend some time thinking about how YOUR HUSBAND would like to spend the day to honor him. Keep the love flowing for him throughout the day by thinking of things you can do for him that are relaxing and enjoyable. Focus on loving him like he would like to be loved...
Morning - How would he like to be woke up? Does he like coffee? Can you make him breakfast and serve him in bed? I realize that you may go to church, but how special would it be for him to get a special breakfast before you leave and taking time to do something you wouldn't normally do on a Sunday morning. Remember chapter 4 (His Sexuality), maybe there's a way you could start his day out "right"?
Afternoon - How 'bout a little surprise "afternoon delight"? tee hee... A picnic with the family, an uninterrupted nap, his favorite ice cream or dessert?
Evening - What's his favorite meal? Can you involve the kids by having them set the table and serve daddy? Maybe sing him a song or bring him some homemade gifts or cards?
Bedtime - How would your hubby like to end the day? A movie, some TV time (without feeling guilty), a massage, or making love? How would his perfect day end?

Even if it's not Father's Day where you're at, you can still surprise your hubby with a special day to honor him! You don't have to wait for a "reason"... surprise him with a Father's Day that will knock his socks off!

and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
