• Monday, January 30, 2006 - SHARE and Tell: Your Blog Name's Meaning
So Amber at "Trying is Bravery" had a great idea that I just had to share, cuz I'm curious now about it now...
SHARE and Tell:
Explain how you choose your username and Blog's title... That's it... there's certainly a few "unique" ones out there, and I'm sure lots of stories to go with them, so let us in it!
DANDELION SEEDS actually came from the Lord a few years back... He put it in my heart and I had no idea what it would bring (I still really don't), so since that time, anything that will be public and "spead" His word in any way, I've given credit to "DANDELION SEEDS". There are many meanings within the name, but it's mainly about me (and my family) being like a dandelion seed that goes to where it's lead (dandelion seed by wind, me by God) and where ever it lands, takes root (in the Lord) and grows until it speads again. I want to be like a dandelion seed for God. It also helps me to remember that in spreading His word, it's not my job to bring people to the Lord, but to plant the seeds and leave the Lord in charge of their hearts.
You can read more about it on The DANDELION SEEDS Blog. Thanks for sharing! Excited to read what you guys have to say!
I LOVE it when the Lord put something in our heart, we trust that it means something, whether we know the meaning or not. As long as we trust in Him, the mystery will be GREATER than we can ever imagine. Thank you for sharing.
Ladies in Training is pretty self explanatory. I have three little ladies and I must have read somewhere about training our daughters to be ladies. So I started talking to them about being trained like a lady. When I talk to them about manners and such I tell them that ladies do this or that. Actually, I remember now. I read it on one of the Pearls magazines. I also point out that ladies look like this or that. So it seemed like a good title to have since this is a homeschool blog. Anyways, I think I will go blog this now.

Well, my blog name and username don't have the wonderful roots that have been posted here....but here's my story ("and I'm stickin' to it"...ok, sorry, sorry....I do like my country music!)
eyecorn is from DH...it is how our last name is pronounced - eye-corn. DH got me a vanity plate about 17 years ago with this on it. The bad thing is folks recognize it now and know it's us...so they'll say, "Hey, I saw your DH streak by me the other day..." LOL. The "DMD and a Zone Bar" is kind of a play on some other blog names I saw...like coffee and a muffin. I don't snack on tea or coffee and a muffin....my thing is a zone bar and a diet mtn dew. Plus, my business partner (Cindy) and I always pack up the cooler with dmd and zone bars when we head to do a homeschool convention together. It's our "2 homeschool moms on a road trip" ritual.
I look forward to coming back and reading about the blog names...it is a very interesting question.
I enjoyed reading your post and the following comments. My blog name came from the fact that writing is a difficult, intimidating chore for our youngest son. So, I felt that since writing in a public forum is difficult and intimidating for me that I would be able to empathize better and also be setting a good example. What I didn't anticipate was the fun of blogging! I have to watch the ol' clock because time sure gets away when I'm reading all these great posts and when I'm writing for my blog.
Oh...in case you're wondering...writing is still difficult and intimidating for my son, so my plan didn't exactly succeed....yet! ;)
My blog title (above) was taken from the book My Side of the Mountain which my oldest son has read twice and listened to on tape twice. I thought it sounded like a good blog title for me and my family because we live in a mountainous region.
Blog Name: on THE Solid Rock. I was looking for school names a while back and that is what I decided on. We do not need one in the state of CO but some companies want a school name when applying for an educator discoutn or freebie. I decided on this one b/c I pray that we are raising them on THE Solid Rock of the Lord :)
My name is obvious cause I'm in Tennessee and I am a mom to 5 children.. but I am int he process of changing it.. I really really need another name : )
Ever since we've been missionaries, we've sent out a newsletter called "The Woodward Wire". My blog - Wired Wisdom - is a spinoff from that. "Wired" meaning on line. "Wisdom" - maybe I'll share some, maybe I'll learn some. Mainly, it went well with "Wired"
Kleo30 is the username I use everywhere. If I had more than 1, I might forget LOL. K is my first name initial and leo is part of my last name. I was 30 when I created this name. I'll be 37 in a few short weeks! Unbeliveable.
Life with Boys...that is pretty self explanatory :) I live with a bunch of them LOL. The only other female in this house is Misty, the kitten.
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog!
And for the challenge of writing about why I chose my blog name. It's something I've been wanting to write about, so thanks! I posted my answer on my blog.

On my site I go into more detail about the name Abiga but essentially it is a name for first grandchild gave me. I love helping my family and others and would rather do that than anything else in my life. So I hope that somehow even one of my blogs my ehlp and bless someone. Blessings to you!
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
