So I was just wondering if anyone would be
interested in reading a books together and sharing online about
it? We can read during the week, and then post on Saturday (or
any day for that matter, but Sunday will be the day to "reflect" on the
week so it would be nice if we've read and posted by then). We'll
do a chapter a week... nothing too intense (I realize we all have
lives... and little lives that can get pretty demanding on ours!) and
see how it goes. I'd love to be a part of a women's study group,
but with my husband's schedule, he's not home much (try finding a
sitter for 5 kids... plus, I'm not real comfortable with that all the
time...) and when he
is home,
I don't want to leave. I'm hoping that this will be something
that works out, and be fun too! Let me know what you think of
this and anyone who would be interested... I don't have the links
working yet, but they will be...
The first book I'd like to do is,
"Don't Make Me Count To Three! - A Moms Look at Heart-Oriented Discipline" by Ginger Plowman.
(The ISBN# is: 0972304649 for those of you who want to look for it
other than the link I've provided, or want to get it from the Public
Library.)
Description on the back: Do
you find yourself threatening, repeating your instructions, or raising
your voice in an attempt to get your children to obey? Are you
discouraged because it seems you just can't reach the heart of your
child? Through personal experience and the practical application of
Scripture, Ginger Plowman encourages and equips moms to reach past the
outward behavior of their children and dive deeply into the issues of
the heart. Ginger's candid approach will help moms move beyond the
frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and
into a confident, well-balanced approach to raising their children.
I will be posting more information on this later... we'll shoot for
starting in a week (if possible... let me know how long it takes to get
your book if you're buying it), but 2 weeks at the latest.
In Him,
Amy
