Please keep Emily
in prayer as she goes into the hospital at 5:30am Tuesday (Crystal has
posted an absolutely beautiful post there, so stop by to read it and if
you haven't read it already, take a moment to read Emily's dad's post
as well.). Her surgery is scheduled for 7:30am (central time
zone). If you are willing to commit to a specific time, please
leave a comment to the time you will be praying. Stop by Crystal's blog and let her know that you're praying for the family as well. (And
to those of you I asked to pray and then gave you the wrong link to
Emily's site... my apologies. I guess mistakes happen when you're
up after 11pm sending over 200 prayer requests... even with cut and
paste! )
Also,
if you're not a part of the Homeschool Blogger community, please leave
your site address so I can leave a link in your time slot! Thanks!
Please continue to keep Candace and Israel in your prayers as well. Take time to enjoy your children...
hug them a little longer... say "I love you a million times"... thank
the Lord for blessing your life with such precious gifts...
Hi. Just to let you know that I have received the prayer requests for Candace and Emily and am praying for them. Have also forwarded them to friends on my prayer net. God bless you for creating all these prayer lists for them.
Also.. FYI... on one of the comments you left on my blog, the link for Emily's site did not work correctly... not sure if you can go back and edit it? If not, don't worry about it... I will put a link for her in my post as well.
...for the updates. We will join you in prayer for Emily and continue praying for Candace. After reading Cathy's post, we'll be praying for Israel too. Do you know the guidelines for posting their pictures on my blog? I'd like to put their pictures with a link to their mother's posts under a "Please pray for" heading, but don't want to do anything without the proper permission.
Thanks for continuing to spread the word...it counts!
Thank you so much for doing this. This is AWESOME.
I would like the 10:30 am spot, please (which is 7:30 am for us Alaskans, which means that baby and I will be doing the praying).
If that spot is already filled, please put me down for noon.
Our family would love to devote more prayer time to Emily an her family. Please place our name in the 10:00 a.m. slot (Lavis Family)... during our morning break we will lift our prayers to the Lord †. I feel we are all so blessed with the many wonderful loving an compassionate people whom come together in a time such as this... Thank You Jesus...
Wishing You and Yours a Beautifully Blessed Week...
I will take the 12:30 time slot and will also pray throughout the day as this is brought to my mind. Also posted it on my blog to try to help get the word out.
Blessings,
Dianne
Dear Amy,
I saw your link to the "Candace Joy" site last week. I had to check it out since one of my own dear daughters is named Candace. I've been checking in and praying for her. I was out of town for the week end which is why I didn't comment on the prayer times.
Thank you for bringing this precious one to our attention.
In Him,
Drewe Llyn
I guess lack of sleep over the weekend has left me confused. I just now realized this prayer sign up is for a different request. I haven't been following Emily's story, but I will pray now and as the Lord brings her to mind. PTL that Candace's surgery went well yesterday.
God is bigger than cancer. I will be in prayer for Emily. If you need me to fill a specific time slot on your prayer list - just put me down anywhere. I'll check back later.
My children and I will pray for Emily and her surgery (and a speedy recovery) at noon. It will be a good lesson for my children about praying for others- we've had some health problems here with my 3 year old and have talked a lot about prayer and what it would be like to be facing something far worse than the ordeal little Grace has been going through with her severe asthma.
Cancer is also a familiar subject around here, with 3 dear friends (one a homeschooling mom) going through diagnosis and surgery in the last couple of years, one was my aunt, and just last week another aunt has been diagnosed (my grandmother died of cancer- I have a strong family history...) It's a scary subject, but we have a big God, bigger than cancer!
Our hugs go out to their whole family,
ali
I have been spreading the word and have update the sidebar on my website. I also added Christi Thomas but need to see if she's got an image I can use to replace the text I've currently got up. If you get the chance, stop on by and see what you think!
Also, please put me down for a few spots in the afternoon and/or late evening for Emily's prayer chain. I have a little one named Emily as well and she and her other 3 siblings and I will all pray during our assigned times (afternoon) and I can pray during a late evening shift.
Thanks so much for doing all this and caring so much!
Put me down for 2:30 pm as that will be 8:30pm England time, just the time when I tuck my little girls safely into bed. how thankful i have become for them over all this! how often i take them for granted and never even realize it. *sigh* thank you Lord for allt he ways you work....with you guys in thought and prayers!
This is making me cry a lot. I can't believe all of these wonderful people are praying for our girl. I feel so blessed and just can't describe how beautiful this is to me. Thanks everyone for being here and praying for Emily. Just thanks.
I am praying right now for Candace and Emily that the Almighty God will be with them. That He will cover them and His spirit will hover over them and around them and that they will find comfort in Him. I pray that the precious moms and dads of these girls will be held together firmly knowing that their God is an awesome, loving, incredible God. That He will work on their behalf and bring them peace. A sure knowledge of His performing on their behalf. To know that even Jesus Himself is interceding to the Father for each of these little girls and for each member of their families. That He is the God of all Comfort and the Prince of Peace. That He is merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth. Father, we place these two little girls in Your hands; Your wonders to proclaim and your glory to be revealed in each one. In the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen - Let it be so.
...you able to keep up with so many comments from so many people?! Also, are you related to these precious children (Israel, Candace, and Emily)? Just curious.
I'm praying now as I read more about Emily (and the other two children). Please put me down to pray for Emily at 5:30 p.m. Central on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006.

Hi,
This is Crystal's husband Scott (aka Emily's Dad). I can't tell you how much this means to us. It's so wonderful to see the Church in action the way God intended for it to be. Tomorrow is going to be a pretty tough day for us, but with Him and all of you we'll make it through.
Crystal will be at the hospital for the next three days and I'll be there as much as I'm allowed and as much as the baby will let us be. I promise I will update Crystal's blog with news before I go to bed tomorrow nite. It may be very late at night and since our day is starting a 4:30 am it may be very incoherent, but I will post something to let you all know what is going on.
One last thing, I know you are all praying for Emily and I appreciate that more than I can say. But I was wondering if every once in a while you could just mention Crystal as well. As brave and courageous as she has been through all of this, she is still scared to death for her little girl.
Wow. Everything you guys have done is amazing. Big thanks to Amy for organizing all this and to all of you who have committed a portion of your day to pray on our behalf. Truly amazing, and so undeserved.
Hi, this is Steph, I'm a good friend of Crystals. I just called their home and talked to Emily's Grandma, Carrie. If you are like me I'm sure you have been checking the blog all day in hopes of some news and I know Scott will post later tonight and share all the details if he can manage to stay awake. =) But I thought Crystal would want you all to know that Emily is out of surgery. Your prayers were and continue to be appreciated. It sounds like Emily is recovering now which is good but the surgery was more complicatd then expected and was 9 hours long. I can't imagine poor Crystal in the waiting room that long. I'm heart broken I couldn't be with her but she has an amazing family that is supporting her right now and all of your friendships and prayers have blessed her and Emily more then words can communicate. I don't want to mis -communicate anything so I will leave the details to Scott but I got the impression from Carrie that we are still confident Emily will make a full recovery but the day wasn't as smooth as expected. So please continue to keep everyone in prayer. Thank you so much.
In Christ,
Steph Stanger
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
