• Saturday, March 4, 2006 - EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST FOR CANDACE!

Janne had left an urgent prayer request from Candace's mom in the middle of the night, however, things have worsened and when I just stopped to see if there were any updates, I found this:

BACK IN PICU.

EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST   3/4/06   10:06 AM

Candace has been up all evening with violent symptoms of vomiting, hot, cold shakes and thrashing.  It is thought at this time to be drastic withdrawal symptoms to the heavy narcotics she was on for so long.  Many tests are going on currently and we will update you later today.  Please pass this request on to others who pray.

                         In Christ,
                         Cathy

Please keep Candace in prayer and pass this information along...

Also remember Missey's family as they go through the funeral today, and Emily's still in the hospital and frustrated.  Check out "Prayer Requests" to see other bloggers who have asked for prayer as well.

In Him,
Amy

Don't know why I woke up so early. Not my usual time. Then I read your message in my box. I have posted a special prayer for Candace on my blog. I don't know how to express my feelings when I read about these families and their trials...overwhelmed??

All I have is the knowledge and the assurance of the love of our heavenly Father who knows the name of each precious person He created. I cling on to the promises of our Lord, our Rock.

Thank you for being such a faithful friend, Amy.

Blessings,
Ai Boon

Thank you for the all of the work you're doing on behalf of these two young girls. I have kept them and their families in prayer. My son was in Children's Hospital for three weeks a few years ago so I understand what these families are going through. Thanks so much!

•Saturday, March 4, 2006 - My Son's Illness

Posted by OHFarmwife
Hi!
Thanks for asking about my son. My son developed an auto-immune disease after having strep throat, the chicken pox and RSV all within a few weeks time. It affected the mylein (sp?) sheath that cover the nerves in his brain that controlled his vision. His body was actually dissolving the mylein sheath and the exposed nerve was swelling up causing him to have double vision, unstable balance, lazt eyes, etc. His asthma started to act up when the RSV took over. He was in quarantine for about a week due to the RSV which he contracted in the hospital. It was really hard and scary to watch him slowly fade away before the Dr.'s figured out what was wrong with him. He eventually was put on very high doses of Prednisone and a few other medications to allow the swelling to go down. We kept him in isolation for a two months as his immune system was greatly compromised. But, the Lord healed my son and now he has no trace of these things ever happening. His asthma is gone as well. I was really nervous when the one year anniversary of his illness came as the Dr.'s said that most neurological diseases will show up again within a year if it's something else. We at one point thought he had MS, but thankfully that was eliminated. Sorry to make this so long, but I have thought about it a lot lately with these two young girls in the hospital. I know the stess on the family can be hard and it will take a while for life to seem normal again. A friend watched my other children and I saw them 2 or 3 times over a two week period. It was hard to be separated but my dh and knew our son needed us and our girls were being well cared for, so it made it a little easier.

Have a great day!!

Just wanted to let you know that Rae came through her surgery and is now waiting on the results of the biopsy. I have a link to her blog on my post if you want to read more. Thanks so much for praying and for using your blog as a tool to encourage people to pray.
