Mike is loading bags as I speak... uh, write... and the kids are ready for church where we will leave from to be in the car for 5 hours (I'm told). Mike and I went to a church function last night and the one of the things I took out of there was... WHAT YOU LOOK FOR, YOU WILL SEE... and so, I've made a choice.
I WILL look for:
time with my kids
time with my hubby
rest
patience
sunsets
sunrises (some of them)
the stars
reading time
journal time
time with the Lord in His surroundings
good times with new friends
meeting new people
coffee with my beloved
reading time with my kids
taking pictures (I'll share when I get back!)
I WILL NOT look for:
pessimism
bears
snakes
mice
any other animal that might invade my personal space
electricity
And so, with that improved attitude... I say "good-bye for now" to my curling iron, hair dryer and hair taffy (yes, there is such a thing and I DO use it) and embark on a new adventure and feel as though I should walk out the door to a covered wagon.
I'll be journaling, so be sure to stop back and hear about "What I did on MY summer vacation".
You can take the woman into the woods... and you can take the curling iron out of the hands of the woman... and you can even take the woman somewhere where there is NO ELECTRICITY... but that woman will still wear sweats with style!
My sweet hubby bought me this wonderful outfit from Victoria's Secret for my week long trek into the unknown... he's so wonderful. There's even pockets for my flashlight (when I have to pee outside in the great blackness) and my tweezers (for my eyebrows of course). This has some how softened the blow of my coming week's reality... did I mention we will NOT have electricity?
• Friday, August 22, 2008 - My new hair and hair-stylist...
With everything so crazy lately, I forgot to share the news of the new hair dresser I found... My sweet and most wonderful hubby took the time last week to color my hair and it turned out so well that I've "hired" him full time! He had me pick out the color and he read up information online and even did the whole "foil" thing. It's so nice to know that if this whole church planting thing doesn't work out, that he has something to fall back on... as;dlkfj;asdfkj;asdklfj;asldkjf;asldkfj;asdlfkj.
Seriously though... he really did do a nice job. He's the greatest...
and a woman seeking the Lord's Will (daily), a wife (striving to keep the romance alive), a "Smamma" (Step- mother) of one and a homeschooling mom of seven (I was never going to have children), who starts every day over (after messing SOME thing up the day before), knowing God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry), and so thankful He's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve.
