Thursday, May 18, 2006 - Rhyming
A friend of mine suggested a great game for Cameron and I to play to help him get a grasp on rhyming. Every time we make a rhyme I laugh. I laugh crazy. I laugh like the Count from Sesame Street...ah, ah, ah. He still doesn't have a command of rhyming yet but I think he is getting there.
Today at the library I spotted a great find. My library has "kits." They are mesh backpacks that carry a few items with a theme. One of his favorites is the Clifford bag. It has a plush Clifford puppet, several Clifford books, a Clifford puzzle and a matching game. There are many different ones with a variety of themes. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Farm Animals, ABC's, New Sibling...
Today we brought home Rhyme Time! We've already put the 16 individual puzzles together and he was getting good at guessing what the rhyme would be. A giraffe who loves to laugh. A horse on a golf course. A hen counts to ten. And of course after each little puzzle was complete, we would both laugh like the Count. The only thing that was missing was the lightening and thunder cue. LOL I think he looked forward to the laugh as much as finishing each puzzle.
