Thursday, November 2, 2006 - Money Pouch
For history and geography we are learning about clothes and fashions throughout the ages. The book we are reading for this also includes projects to do and make for some of the pages. For the medevial time they talked about money pouches. We made one of our own.
First I got a strong piece of material and used a plate to trace a circle on the material.

After I cut it out we cut slits along the outer edge

Then I strung some yarn in a blunt tip needle and Cameron did the sowing.

And then we just pulled it taunt. Instant money pouch...or a pouch for dominoes, later golf balls.

And yes, my little hockey player lost another tooth! (he doesn't play hockey but I think he looks like one with that tooth gone)

That looks like a fun project!
Thanks for commenting at my BFS post. I was beginning to feel like a pariah.
When we did celebrate Christmas, my musical daughter and I used to go door-to-door in our neighborhood, singing to the neighbors and giving them homemade cookies. It was a blast.

Cute, cute, cute! We never did do that project. We did a lot of them in that book though. It was one of our favorites!
