Monday, June 18, 2007 - New Shoes
Cameron had been complaining about the tightness of his tennis shoes for a few days. I couldn't believe that he needed new shoes already. I had bought them a little bit bigger so that he could wear them longer. But you know children and growth spurts and all that.
So I had a few dollars that I was hoping to find a good deal for new shoes. In the store I asked Cameron to hand me one of his shoes so I could look at it and find what size they were.
I found the size, and something else. In both shoes there was almost a full measuring cup of sand!!!
No wonder they didn't fit.
All is good now and no new shoes are needed for awhile.

ROFL - that is so funny!
One of my girls was complaining once about her shoes being too small, it turns out one of our cats had hidden a stuffed mouse in there!
My kids are all outgrowing their shoes, too. It must be that time of year!
Blessings,
Michelle

Well aren't you blessed to just get the sand out. I spent nearly $475 in footware today for 3 boys. Now, to be fair, Trent has paid me back for his hiking boots.. but that's only $90.. the rest is my burden. Why? Did I buy them the latest in fancy fashion? Did I buy them the greatest Name Brand? NO - NO, it's not nearly as vain as all that.. it's that they have terribly flat feet and I need to get them special shoes with increadible arch supports -one child has $150 shoes, which of course he's grow out of in 6-8 months - I've done this twice in the last year for him.. sigh.. and he's not finished growing yet. At least my oldest is nearly there.. footwise that is, his body will probably grow another 6 inches - he's 5'10 right now, with size 11 1/2 feet.
OOOH Would that it were only sand in the shoes.

Danielle,
That is so funny! Seth always gets rocks, sand, etc. in his shoes. I'm glad you didn't have to buy new shoes after all.

That is too funny! I am amazed at how fast my boys' feet have grown. My 6 year old son, has grown 2-3 sizes past his older sister's size. Good thing you found that sand!

I had a wonderful laugh off of that. John has done the same thing storing sand in his shoes. Let's not forget all the loose change around the house he stores in his shoes. So that way he wont loose it. My hats off to Cameron the sand boy....
Blessings from our home to your home,
Debbie

Lol... kids!!! That is hilarious! That happened a couple weeks ago with my son... except it was that his shoe was too small due to the whole tongue being shoved up into the toe. After I fixed it, he said, "Oh, that feels better!" Uh, yeah!
