Sunday, December 16, 2007 - Sunday at Home
We got hit with quite a snow storm today. In fact, it kept us home all day. It was really strange being home on Sunday. We normally leave home between 8:30 and 9 in the morning and don't get home until 9 or 10 that night.
We spent a very nice day together. We worked on our lapbook that we WILL finish, even if it is about Thanksgiving and that was almost a month ago.
Cameron went out to enjoy some of the snow in between flurries. And Mama braved the cold outside to capture a few shots.
My little man, hard at work clearing the steps for me. The shovel is bigger than he is.
We even made brownies for after dinner. But we tried something brand new. Instead of eggs or butter or oil, we pureed a can of organic black beans. That's right. We had to cook the brownies a little bit longer but they turned out really moist! And you would never guess there were black beans in there. So, they were healthier for you too! I wonder if that will work for other things.

I don't think I'm brave enough to tinker with my brownie recipe. We had family members turn down things like carrot cake just because we uttered the word "cheese" (as in, cream cheese frosting.)

Okay, I have heard of using applesauce instead of oil in brownies, but never beans! HOW did you think of that? I was LOL at your "we WILL finish the lap book even though it's about Thanksgiving" comment! That sounds like me! :o)

1. I can't believe how big Cameron has gotten. I was just comparing the pictures in this post and the one you have on your blog on the top right. I just remember also pictures from last year, and now he looks so grown up.
2. black beans? Wow that really sounds disgusting! You said they were moist...did they taste good? That might be something I should try around here as my kids don't eat anything good for them. If it is good would you mind posting the recipe?
