Friday, August 15, 2008 - Back to School Shopping
I am so strange. I love shopping for office, or rather in our case, school supplies. I was actually kind of giddy at the store today. I love the back to school bargins!
I love them so much that I already have quite a stack of notebooks. I said that I wasn't allowed to purchase anymore of those spiral bond. I have enough to last me for a very long time.
BUT...
They were only 5 cents!!
So of course I had to get some. Oh well, they have no shelf life and we will always need paper.
I spent a little over $12 and got
- 50 folders with three prongs and 2 pockets in various colors (we use these folders for just about everything. I used some for church things too last year so I wanted to be well stocked)
- 3 composition books
- 4 packages of 100 index cards
- 4 big bottles of glue
- 20 spiral notebooks
- package of erasers
- 64 crayons
I just love back to school shopping!

Even if I don't need the 5 cents items (or 10 cents or 25 cent...) I will also stock up on these. I even buy these items when I'm not sure when or how or if I will use them!
However, at the end of every summer, some of the churches around here have "backpack" drives, where they will fill new backpacks with school supplies for needy children. I'll usually go through my stockpile and pull some out to share. This year, my son's VBS did it for the offering each night. It was nice to be able to pull a few school supplies for him to donate each night.

my last years notebooks which were only 10 cents lasted me until THIS YEARS SALES! So this year with being 5 cents. I just grabbed 2 boxes of them!
Each shopping trip I wind up with a few more things. With kids and friends, you can never have enough boxes of crayons to grab and go, or notebooks.

I love it too! I didn't really get any good deals though. I did purchase on the VA "no sales tax" weekend though. LOL

How do you do that thing you mentioned--read your blogs at Google Reader?
The good thing about begin away from HSB is that I probably missed the glitch!
