We have a brand new addition to our family. My dad surprised Cameron with an early Christmas present last week.
Cameron was BEYOND thrilled when we adopted a pet from the animal shelter. I told him he could rename her with any name he wanted. I gave him several suggestions but he shot them all down. He came up with Ruth all by himself and wouldn't be talked out of it so I know that it is the name that he really wanted.
Cameron is in love with his Christmas present.
She's goofy. She doesn't like to be held right now unless it is like this. I've had cats that would be held as long as you DIDN'T hold them like this.
She is also my first "climber."

That is really the coolest Christmas present you can get! Pets are a joy the whole year round and become more precious as the years go by.

This looks just like our beloved cat, Phoebe, whom we renamed after we adopted her from the Humane Society. Unfortunately, our son was allergic and we had to re-home her (yes, we actually found her a new loving home instead of taking her back to the HS). She loved to be held and petted. She wasn't a climber really, but she did loved to curl up in the bathroom sinks to take her naps (if she wasn't curled up on your lap, that is!).
