Random Picture/Video Day!

Posted at 9:15 PM on Jul. 8, 2007

We are planting a salsa pot garden!

We've got a few peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers!

It was fun for the kids to be able to help.

Sorry the images are so blurry.

LOL, we used our Cherry Coke bottle to water the plants with.

Oooh, look at the sky.

Tada!

And that's not even all of 'em. There are a few more on the other side of the deck.

Dad bought a Badminton set! It is so much fun. I got some pictures of us setting it up.

It took us a while to set up.

But, at last it started looking like a net.

Beaver is trying to be a circus performer. :D

Finally! It was done!

So, they got to play it before it got dark.

 Skateboard!!!

My good friend/neighbor, Hunter is a skate freak! And little by little he has taught me a few things. So I thought I'd share with you my newest trick; the fake-y shove-it while playing my DSLite with a hat on and a Tux shirt and a throwing knife all with a Philadelphia cream-cheese packet in my mouth! It's very complicated. So stand back! :D

I wanted to be the first one to comment, but Amanda didn't get to comment first on the last one, so she got to now!

I will look at the pics when they load all the way, which may take the whole day!

I am going to blog after Mom reads my posts, so you can go comment in like 20-30 min.

...from MD! (I'm actually "from" Maryland). I'm at my Grandma's house now. Flight went well -- didn't use the flushing coffin and thank goodness no snoring or corny jokes (I sat next to two girls from Mexico -- bilingual, btw. They're very nice.)
So far I'm having a good time...and only the end of day one!! I'm pooped though.
Haha, salsa garden. =P My Dad would like one of those. And nice skate videos!! I wish I could do those types of things....but I can only skate. You're just so talented, I'm telling you, the cream cheese just did it all!

The videos would be horrible if it weren't for that ridiculous guy in the back with the red shoes. Ooh, talk about eye candy.

Oh, and I'd sponsor you.

Pretty spiffy. I liked your fake-y shove-it while playing DSLite with a hat on and a Tux shirt and a throwing knife all with a Philadelphia cream-cheese packet in your mouth. By the way, the cream-cheese thing is a little weird. LOL. My brother likes to eat those too.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, Paulie!!

Posted by JacqueDixonSoulRestES at 1:52 PM on Jul. 11, 2007
Though I am concerned that we have so many peppers now, because I figured we'd pass 1/2 of ours onto you guys.... now what am I gonna do? Your Momma and I are gonna have to get together and do a canning session via the internet, I guess!!
And... Um.... I want some of those racks back. Orange would go just fine with our tan siding, and they would look dandy on our porch! lol
You are pretty funny on the skateboard. lol. Very talented, indeed.
Ok... now I am going to go and look at the pics I missed. The badminton ones hadn't loaded, but it sure sounds fun... Do you guys like croquet? We always played that when I was your age. Ours like to play, too.
Maybe we can play when we all get together next time.
Blessings-

Wow! Your salsa pot garden is so nice!!! I like the shelving units that you put the pots on. That is such a great idea. I hope you guys have a big harvest!

We are now starting to get bell peppers, banana peppers, and tomatoes out of the garden everyday. It is so much fun and it tastes great too.

Blessings to your family from all of us!

Manure Tea

Posted by SBadgley at 10:29 AM on Jul. 12, 2007
One thing you can do to give your plants a big kick-start is to make a batch of manure tea. You can get a bag of organic manure/humus at Wal-Mart for $1.50 and then you put a heaping shovel full of this in a 5 gallon bucket and then fill this bucket with water. Don't worry... it does not smell too bad. Ha, ha. If you use fresh manure that is another story.

You can let this tea steep for 3 days (I cover our bucket with cloth or a lid to keep the flies out) and then stir it up real good and it is ready. We use a 16 ounce cup for each plant and we add this at the base of the stem every two weeks. The first time we used manure tea on our plants they doubled in size overnight. It was pretty neat to watch.

If you want to try something else for fertilizer during your growing season, you can buy a bottle of organic fish emulsion at Wal-Mart or a local garden store. You put 1 ounce of this in a gallon of water and you can use this every two weeks. Tomatoes and peppers love fertilizer!

Happy Gardening!!
Mrs. Badgley

PS: Shaiya's horse bite is getting better. She has a big hard spot on her arm but evidently this is a normal thing that happens. Thankfully Sassy has been on good behavior since!!

Your avatar is the coolest thing. That is just awesome.
I am so happy I was able to get there before Joe. LOL!!
Those pics are so neat. Your salsa garden is looking good. Mom is so wanting some of those racks back now. LOL!!
That sky is just amazing. Was it going to storm or just the sunset??
Those videos are just too AWESOME!! LOL!! I can't believe you can do all those things on a skateboard. You are talented.
I tried to skateboard once... will never set foot on one again, that's for sure. LOL!! It is a funny story, but I am NOT telling it on your blog. LOL!!
Joe surely is a weirdy. I am not sure about that guy... Definitely has issues.
Oh and if you need some manure tea, I know someone who has LOADS!! LOL!! You can have as much as you want. LOL!!
Oh yes, I tagged you. I know you don't do alot of tags, but this was a fun one and I thought it was be fun to see your answers.
As Always...

I mean "your really cool stuff on the skateboard." But my neck is really aching now from watching that one that went sideways. I think I need to go to the chiropractor. Tell your Mom that I will just send her the bill!

LOL!
