A very overdue update
|
We've been back from TN for almost two weeks and I am just now getting around to posting on my blog! We had a wonderful trip and visit with family. All four kids (my two and my sister's two) had fun trick-or-treating together. Braden and his cousin Harrison (only 8 months older) spent most of thier time together making up and acting out Lord of the Rings sequels 4, 5 and 6. This was very interesting since they had no weapons to play with! Benjamin entertained himself by going up and down a flight of stairs. He nearly gave me a heart attack a couple of times, but for the most part, he was very careful. One of the highlights for Braden was getting to see his friend Hailey, who moved to Nashville over the summer. Braden and Hailey are only six weeks apart and have been frineds since they were babies. We didn't tell either of them they were going to see each other. So it was a big surprise when we met up at the mall for dinner and some play time. Since being home, I've been catching up on "Mt. Laundry" that took over our hallway for a while. Not only did we have all of our laundry from the trip, but we came home with two HUGE bags of clothes for Braden that Harrison had outgrown. I am so thankful that my sister passes on all of Harrison's clothes to us. It makes such a difference in not having to buy so many things! We took last week off of school, so we could prepare for the third nine weeks (as well as recover from our trip). But we're back in the swing of things this week. It hasn't been the easiest getting back into groove after a two-week break, but we'll manage. This season is just one that we have to survive. We'll school all this week, then take off and do some fun Thanksgiving projects next week. Then we'll hit school again for a couple of weeks, then break for Christmas. We'll be back full force again in January. We're also getting ready for Benjamin's birthday party on Saturday. His birthday is Sunday and he'll be two! His current passion is "beep-beeps" or anything that goes :cars, trucks, planes, buses, helicopters, trains, you get the idea. So we're having a "Beep Beep" party. Nothing fancy, just cake and ice cream and a few of his favorite friends. I'll be making his cake, so I'll post pictures later if it turns out okay! Well that's all I have time for now. I've got to get Braden ready for his Spanish class and then we have martial arts this afternoon. Wednesdays are so busy! |
