Psalms 37 verse 4
|
Delight yourself in the Lord,
And he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37 v 4
My dear friend Jane (AKA Dear lord I feel like a whale )beautifully wrote out and framed this verse as a gift for our wedding nearly ten years ago. It hangs in our hallway and I read it at least once a day as I go past. This verse has always been very precious to me and I feel that this particular promise from God is always going to be one I need to cling to. It is so easy to get lost in the busyness and stress of life and to lose sight of what the desires of our heart are. If we delight in Him our desires will be His desires and then we will find contentment and peace because we know that we are asking for the things that our Father wants us to have.
God has filled his Word with so many promises that are ours for the asking. He will never disappoint or break those promises. He is faithful and just.
Praise and worship our Wonderful Heavenly Father today.

Hi Deb
I've just read your blog - you have a much more poetic way of saying what I was trying to get at in my last one- thank you! I've just been reading the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to the boys. So your reminder of God's promises and trustworthyness is perfect timing. In the general mayhem of life, a gentle prod to trust in God is well needed and received.
Hope you are all well
Love Catherine x

Just popped into Marks blog and I couldn't drop by there without swinging by your way (us girls gotta stick together). I dropped a hint about a laptop too (you can pay me later!)
Hey I'm sooo excited. Thanks to the stuff in those freebie goodie bags, I've ordered some new curriculum as I realise that I can't keep making everything up any longer! Joseph especially, needs more stretching. So, we've ordered Greek books from icthus resources, and some more explode the code and comprehension books also. I'm using the Pilgrims Progress curriculum for history and am doing reformation and John Bunyan and related artists and scientists of that era. I checked out Sonlights reading lists then orderd the books off amazon (much cheaper). We're going to do 'Switched on Schoolhouse' curriculum (the free disc in bag) for maths and science. And I ordered 'Draw Write Now' for Miranda out of the Barker Creek catalogue (also one of the freebies). Pheew. Hope it's all OK when it arrives! I'm going to the answers in genesis shop soon as it seems they have great homeschool stuff.
Have agrrrreat week
Jane

Hi, hope you are well. I think you put that really well - sometimes we think that verse means we'll get all our wishes so to speak like a fairy Godmother thing, but you hit the nail on the head when you said when we spend time in His Word our desires will be His desires - thank you for that timely reminder.
Also - if you're still looking at scrapbooking, don't know if you have a wilkinsons store near you, but they've started stocking good priced scrapbooking kits etc.
Blessings, Sarah
