It's so cold
|
It is so weird reading other peoples blogs as they talk about the lovely weather. Reading Genas blog today as she talks about not wanting to do any work because the day is so lovely made me smile. Here in the UK it is freezing and the wind is really cold and strong. I am sitting here trying to imagine being somewhere warm and the sun shining. In reality I am wearing a pair of my husbands socks (why are they always so much warmer?) and two jumpers and dodging the drafts that seem to get in from everywhere in this house.
When trying to explain to the children all about different time zones across the world it is also interesting to see how they react to the fact that in other parts of the world it is summer!!!!!!
Wouldn't it be great to spend all year round dodging winter by living in different hemishperes!!!

Would you please spread the word about Candace's surgery tomorrow? I have a prayer list on my blog for anyone who would like to take a specific time to pray.
Thanks,

Thanks for praying for Candace. I've sent word to her family and will post it on the prayer calendar as well to them know. Could you please let me know how many people are praying for Candace(as it asks on the prayer calendar). If you would like to sign in yourself there, let me know so I don't double it up.
I will also be doing this for Emily who is scheduled for her first surgery on Tuesday. May the Lord heal these precious girls and give strength to their parents during this dificult time!
In Him,
Amy

our boys did the time zones as their first project (we used this from Canon papercraft - http://cp.c-ij.com/english/3D-papercraft/science/timetable_e.html). They loved the fact that it was always morning somewhere (in other words, they didn't have to go to bed lol). Our house is drafty too - the north wind is blowing on the back of the house through the old, ill fitting patio doors, straight up the hall out the ill fitting front door, straight up the stairs through the ill fitting loft hatch.. get the idea?! I find two pairs of socks and my dressing gown a regular feature during the day!

Hi, I've just signed up on this and am trying to figure it out - people from UK are few and far between (or so I'm finding) so would like to know how to make you a "friend" or whatever it is so that I could come back to your blog - any help gratefully received!
I wish the weather would make up it's mind here - one day I'm just thawing out nicely then the next it's snowing and jumpers are out again :-)

I am wrapping up a survey (and contest) on internet security. I am quite interested in the results, since so many seem to have concerns as of late. Please stop by and answer the survey questions. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Janne/89977/

Thanks for letting me know about how to add friends - easy really once you know how I guess! I'm about an hour's drive from Derby so I don't really know about other christian home edders! There is one family who live close by, I'm supposed to be meeting up with them soon, but they only have older children (about 8 years I think) I find that there's not many people with just pre school children who even seem to know much about home education, let alone intend to do it. Do you use a paticular curriculum? Sarah

Missey, a fellow homeschoolblogger, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Melissa Kate.
