The Delaware Museum of Natural History

Homeschool Classes are divided into two age groups that are held simultaneously: Ages 5-7 and Ages 8-11. Class will be held the second Friday of each month (with the exception of October), and you will have the option of choosing the 10-11 a.m. or 1-2 p.m. session. Due to limited classroom space, parents or guardians may attend the classes with children for an additional fee. Summer is Here! Mathnasium of Kirkwood Hwy Newsflash

Happy Summer!

Summer is here and it's time for fun! Welcome to all of the new summer students who will be attending Mathnasium, feel free to ask any of the instructors or year-round students any questions! On the first visit we will be completing the diagnostic evaluation and designing programs for the students.

Our instructors are Bob, Lisa, Amy, Josie, and Brian. Garrett is in charge of the game area. We are all well versed in the Mathnasium Method and will be happy to help you!

Our summer hours and programs begin next week (Monday 16th) and our hours are Monday/Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 and Tuesday/Thursday 8:00-12:00. If you have not returned your schedule request form, please do so ASAP to confirm times for the summer.

Game Time!!!
24

This summer we will use the "24 Game." We have five different versions and the object of the game is to use all the numbers on a card to make a specified number.

The integer version uses addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to get a positive or negative 24. Another version uses only positive numbers with addition and subtraction to reach the white number listed on the card. It's difficult, try it out when you stop in!

In all versions, the cards are rated easy, medium, and hard, shown by colored dots on each card. We use these games as warm-ups and for practice with number sense, order of operations, and visualizing numbers. For more information, visit www.24game.com.
