Outside my window… A dark, cold, winter's night. (It is technically early autumn, but brrr! It's cold out there!)
I am thinking… about the Literary Framework view of Genesis 1 and 2. While I'm not seeing solidity to the view as a whole (although I'll confess I don't really comprehend all of it), it has some interesting points about the ways in which the Creation account points to God's covenant, to Christ, and to a precedent of lordship and dominion on earth. Personally, I see those things as being in tandem with a more literal view than the Framework folk tend to take, but studying the Framework stuff is giving me a deeper appreciation for the poetry within the literal than I'd grasped before. Big stuff for my small mind.
From the learning rooms… school is back in session and we are enjoying the steady rhythm of reading and math and spelling and phonics.
I am thankful for… home. Snug, familiar, cozy, and to my eyes beautiful--cold weather makes me love the warmth of home and family on so many levels.
From the kitchen…. I hear the sound of the tea kettle just before it whistles; in a moment I'll make my evening tea.
I am hearing... the hum of the refrigerator, the click of my keyboard, and the tumble of clothes in the dryer; all are noises usually lost amid PrairieFrog bustle, but they whisper their rhythms assuringly in the evenings when the children are in bed.
I am wearing … a cozy, old fashioned, flannel nightgown
I am creating… plans to add a bit more school for Keegan and Kieran.
I am praying… to grow in joy. It has always been the fruit of the spirit I've felt I understand (and manifest) least..
Around the house… I'm half way through my two months of fall cleaning! This week's focus is the master bedroom.
One of my favorite things… a new package of crayons.
A few plans for the rest of the week… enjoying a nice week of normal (well, it's normal for us) routine
A picture thought to share… Just before returning to the prairie from our mountain retreat I saw the sun winking expressively at us from over the mountain. I thought the lens flare might...well... have flair!
