Baaa, baaa, white sheep...

As I wait for my coconut extract to…extract, (It takes five to seven days, who knew that this would be so time consuming?) I wished to announce a new addition to our ranch. Introducing Rillette: (We call him Riley for short.)

Riley was born last night, and my dad helped with the delivery. I was coming home from dance class, so missed the actual birth; however, I was there for the first feeding. We were initially worried, the lamb did not immediately feed, which they are supposed to, but by morning everything was fine.

Yes, we are now successful sheep farmers. This is our second batch of lambs. Doing something right once is possible by chance, twice takes skill. Yup, I think I’ll get me some denim overalls, a straw hat, and walk around chewing on a piece of hay. Maybe even change my name to Ben “Old” MacDonald. Here is one more photo of the cute little guy:

The cake is coming, soon!!!!

P.S. I am pleased to announce, this is my 100th post! (Fireworks going off, and band playing in the background...)

Awwww, he's so cute!

Two of our goats had kids within this last week. Two of the kids were cold and weak when we found them so I had to go out a couple of times during the night and hold them up so they could nurse. Let me tell you, it's not fun getting out of a nice warm bed to tramp through the mud on a cold wet night.

How did you come up with the name Rillette?

Yeah, I think the name change will fit once you get the overalls and all the rest of the stuff. You just might make out to be a real farmer!:)

The lamb is too cute! Personally I wouldn't want one. I'm not the farmer type. Maybe a bird!:D

Ha ha, I think I beat you in writing comments and almost their for entries, lol. Good job, Ben!!

Love, Miss Elizabeth

P.S. Take your time with the recipe for the coconut cake. As for me, I wouldn't really care if you never posted about it because I hate coconut. Not hurt feelings, I won't be making it but I am sure you are doing a great job on it and I'm sure for someone who loves coconut it probably tastes excellent.

I started to post a comment on the entry before last ("Mr. Davis..."), but I just couldn't think of exactly what to say. Sometimes I think that I'd be saying too much, but I know that I could never say enough. Please tell the Davis's that I've been praying for them; I've been praying for your family too.

I'm glad to hear that your eating sugar again, and I've never doubted your ability discuss the more practical things of life (courtesy and coconut cake for example). I'm sure the new lamb is lovely, but the picture are hard to see on our computer because the monitor is so old (burnt out) that everything looks really dark.

Are we still on for Phantom? (Say yes, say yes!)

Hey!
You're welcome! I thought it fitting, since I think your blog is most Excellent and it was in honor of your 100th post. And I realized I was awarding ALL girls, so I needed to throw a guy in there.

Do you play NO musical instrument?!?!? How do you get through the day?!?! Well, on the fiddle, A# is like when you have to move every single finger up a notch, or something. And if you don't get it in the right place it just sounds terrible! It is only meant for the truly talented, (which makes me wonder why I find it so difficult) jk! ^_^

Have a blessed day,
Sarah

Coconut...yuck.
Congrats on the new lamb! He is cute. I've never been around sheep much but I think goats are adorable.. :-)

I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Davis. Your post about him almost had me crying. Thanks for sharing some good memories. It's so important and good to remember those things about people we love and have lost, isn't it? But praise God that he is not "lost," really... just for a time.

Have a good week - and thanks for the reminder to show courtesy to family AND friends. :-)

I could have sworn I commented on this post.... My bad... mea culpa...

Awwwww! They're so cute!! Actually, no... not really. In fact, I am really tired of sheep. I'm sure glad I don't have to take care of them anymore. I would probably turn them into roasts prematurely.

I am trying to think of a post for myself, and I think of all of the posts you have to do. Smugness, coconut cake etc.

Fare thee well...

Ben-

Have no worries my friend, I will indeed read your recipe on how you make a coconut cake. You don't like almonds? I guess we are settled now....

I agree, you definitely need to be encouraging to your sisters on the topic of modesty. All guys should be!!!

Yes, I did make that dress. I know, it doesn't seem like it but it took me too many hours to count, ripped out to many seams, had to re-sew the bodice twice, and finished 15 minutes before my deadline. So to answer your Q, yes it was hard but I did it thanks to my mom. The only thing I had ever sewn before that was a skirt and a pillowcase. Pretty amazing going from that to a whole costume!!

Encouraging you through the help of the Lord!!

Love, Miss Elizabeth
