"It's probably just a small compound fracture..." ~Name that quote...

No cheating on naming the quote. Take a guess, and then you can look it up!

Time has been limited, and I have two half finished posts in My Documents. The plan was to work on at least one of them when I got home from work. That did not happen. Just after lunch, while I was working away on assisting to code a website, I received a call from my dad, asking if I had heard the news. Naturally my interest was piqued, and I informed him that I had not.

It turns out that my mom tripped and fell backwards onto her wrist. The wrist was not entirely pleased with this arrangement, and broke. She was transported to the hospital by Ambulance, no Thomas was not working that day, and spent three hours in the emergency room getting it x-rayed, splinted, and wrapped. Surgery is scheduled for this afternoon, 5pm. Your prayers would be appreciated.

I will keep you up to date on her condition, and post something focused on a happier note soon.

Two more comments, and I break 1000! Who will be the person to send me over the edge?!?!??!??!

Later!

I know the quote! Without looking it up. It's from White Christmas when Danny Kaye is distracting the general! Love that movie.

Sorry. I suppose I should introduce myself... I'm Laura B., and I'm a member of Heritage Presbyterian church in Centerville, TN. I found your blog through comments on the McDonald's blogs.

Laura,

It is nice to know there are still people similar to myself, who enjoy the classics of American cinema.

Thank you for introducing yourself. It is always a pleasure to meet new people, it is a double pleasure to become acquainted with a member of a sister church!!! Do you have a blog at which I can return the honor of your visit to the home of my humble musings?

Keep commenting, and then when we visit Centerville during one of our vacations, I can be in the position of knowing people there!

Later!

Oh dear! I hope that your Mom is ok! We'll be praying for her!

And the quote is from "White Christmas", and it is when the guy pretends to hurt himself to get the other guy away from the tv. ;-)

Have a good day! I hope that your Mom feels better!

Poor Mrs. H. indeed! She'll now get the royal treatment while an invalid. I hope she gets well soon, but takes advantage of her family's compassion . . .

To be honest, I had no idea what that quote was from. As I find it difficult to watch Christmas movies while not in season, sayings from them tend to wait to come out till then. I can't even sing Christmas songs until after Thanksgiving!
That is a little sad though, I've got to get past this so I can sing of the birth of our Saviour all year long.

Adios Amigo!

Hey. Sorry about your mom! I haven't been on your blog in a while. I am impressed by your athletic prowess as I would've laughed at the base of a mountain like that. And as for your tongs, tooth extraction.

White Christmas. I didn't cheat.

Broke her wrist!!! Sigh. I hope your mom feels better. Maybe now she will get a chance to just sit and relax for awhile... maybe.

P.S. My parents are leaving on their cruise today. Kirsten, Brian and I are going to PARTY! Just kidding. We're painting the living room.

Apr. 25, 2008 - That quote is from White Christmas because we watch that every year at Christmas time....

....and sometimes it can be really boring, only sometimes!

I will definitely be praying for you mom. I hope the surgery goes well! No one in our family has ever broken a bone except for my oldest brother went he went away to college the first year. It is really pretty amazing....

Oh well, g2g do math.

Love, Miss Elizabeth

P.S. Does your family ever visit CT? I know you have friends up here so I was wondering. If you ever do, let me know and maybe you can drop by our church. It would be so AWESOME to actually meet someone off of HSB.
