Well, so much has happened lately. I have a couple of updates on the gardening analogy, but it's too late at night for me to do them justice. So, soon, very soon.
For now, I'd like to ask for help. Those of you who know that I've been researching and recording What in the World's Going On Here? Part 3 Napoleon to the 1950's know that it's been a LONG time coming. The car accident in October slowed everything down to a snail's pace. However, some progress has been made. I am ready to record the section on the 1920's and 30's tomorrow (Facsism, Nazism and the Struggle for Independence), but then I have two more time periods to finish in two weeks (WWII and the 1940's-50's). Before the car accident, that wouldn't have been a problem. Right now, it's going to be a balancing act between doing the right things for my neck and getting the work actually finished. But, prayer makes a huge difference. So, will you please pray for me? Two weeks. No headaches, clear thinking, relaxed neck and shoulders, creativity under pressure. It would be such a huge gift. . . Thank you! (It would be encouraging if you made a quick comment to let me know you're praying. . .)
As soon as the two weeks are finished, we prepare to start flying around the country again (for the month of July), and in the midst of that, I need to write the first chapter of the revised Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries to send out in e-mail format for those who are starting this fall (the books will be out in the winter). So, that's why I have to finish Part Three now!
Again, thank you. And thanks for continuing to pray for Michael in Iraq.
I am sorry for you accident. I had not known about it. I do pray for very speedy recovery.
I do hope you might come visit if you get a chance. I would love for you to stop by and tell me what you think.
In Him,
-Canadagirl
We're praying for you here, Diana!! May God give you all of the strength, creativity, endurance and wisdom that you require to continue His work. Thanks so much for all that you do. We sincerely appreciate you!
I am 16 years old (eldest of 8 children) and have been homeschooled all my life. My mom bought several of your books and tapes years ago and my siblings and I have been historically inspired (or something to that effect :) in our education ever since.
My sister, Rachel (Ballerina4HIM) and I still listen to "What In The World's Going On Here?" over and over again and we haven't stopped learning from it. All the dates and details of history mean nothing if it is not put into Biblical perspective, and the Judeo-Christian Primer of World History teaches it in a comprehensible and entertaining way.
I'll keep you in my prayers as well.
MAY GOD BLESS,
~Amanda~

Isn't HomeschoolBlogger amazing? Everyone involved in homeschooling can contact each other and share their daily journals in a way that most people a few years ago probably never imagined. For instance, I'm writing to you as though I know you even though you have no idea who I am! :)
I, too, am facing the challenge of writing creatively under pressure this week so I'll gladly lift you up before the Father. Praying and believing that things will be just as you said in your post.
I will be praying for you. I want you to know that the first two sets of cds have been such a blessing to me this past year. We are studying ancient history and I would have been lost without your cds. They are worth it just to hear all those names pronounced correctly! Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifice on behalf of homeschoolers. You are a wonderful!

Your post hit close to home with me. I too have struggled to keep family, nuturing "heart time" (meaning not just going through the motions, which kids can see right through) with my kids AND run a business from home at the same time. One of the drawbacks of a homebusiness is that your tangible "sanctuary" from the world (your home) is open to the world in a sense. When I put off doing work, there it is, right in my house beckoning to get done. I guess that is a good reason to make your home business a family affair when ever possible. I try to involve even my 5 y.o. such as stamping the return address' on envelopes. I figure, so what if the mailing envelope has a totally lopsided return address, it's worth the price of imperfection, even if it is a business..
Anyway, thanks for sharing you blessed me and gave such a great reminder where to keep our focus. :)

We just purchased What in the World is Going on Here Part 1 and my 8yr old loved it. He said you made it interesting.
My husband & I enjoyed it very much too. We keep it in the car for our long family rides in the country.
Thank you and will keep you in our prayers. Will have Josh pray for you too.

Extremely happily married since 1979, Bill and Diana Waring home schooled their three children for more than twenty years. The Waring kids were the proving grounds for all the precepts, concepts, and encouragements Bill and Diana teach--the real-life examples of the wonders of home schooling! Now, new grandparents and somewhat empty nesters, Bill & Diana travel all over the world to share the joys of loving learning, honoring one another in the family, and enjoying the journey.
