"Do the Next Thing"

Jul. 19, 2007 - Service and Friendship

The other day a long time friend came over to visit and to help me in the kitchen.  We got a lot done, but we also felt like we had uncovered something new and interesting about homeschooling and/or at-home women and the potential we don't always tap into.

My husband is coming home this Sunday after being gone for 15 months.  I decided it would be helpful to our budget if I get meals in the freezer ahead of time so that we don't get too busy and lazy and end up eating out too much!  Jacki came over and we just started cooking.  Today my daughter and I will do the other half of the meals and it already feels so good!

The thing is, while we were cooking, we caught up on each other's news and lives.

We also shared recipes, and encouragement for the year ahead.

You should try it!!

First of all - please thank your husband for all he has done to protect us! We pray for the troops daily and truly appreciate them.
Second - you are blessed to have a friend who will take the time to do this with you. It seems people are so busy these days that it's hard to find time just to enjoy one another.
you're blessed! Enjoy your husband and may God richly bless you.

I hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing reunion with your husband!!
You are blessed to have a friend to do that with. I do a little of this--very small scale. My trouble is finding recipes that we like once they have thawed. A few we tried had a yucky texture afterwards.
Thanks for visiting.

P.S. My 2 littles and I are doing a little schooling (very short right now) and it is going very smoothly. There are still things that I am wanting to tackle--yes, I am wanting to--but we're taking small bits.
I am ditching the math book--well, I ditched it several months ago--but, now I am writing my own math pages with the book as a guide. Much more to our liking!

I hope everything is going well for you, and you are enjoying your husband being home. How long will he be home?
God bless.
