• Aug. 1, 2007 - My Day Off

I had a day off today - a whole day to myself.

And what did I do?

I went in to the office. ON MY DAY OFF!

But I had lots of loose strings hanging from yesterday,
and they were really affecting my ability
to enjoy my day off.

It wasn't so bad. I went to the satellite office under cover, and made the office staff vow to keep my whereabouts a secret.

I got three hours of work done in an hour and a half.

If I could only be that industrious with the housework.

Which, by the way, my dearest husband has been handling since I went to work.

And I haven't cooked a single meal since I went to work.

Not a single one.

He continues to hold this place together,

and I am so thankful -

for his humble spirit
and his servant's heart.

And if we eat rice every single night because he knows how to fix it, that's just fine with me.

Maybe God's trying to teach us something with all that rice...

Wow, are you dedicated!! I'd never go in on my day off, but I do check my work emails from home and sometimes respond.
