Tuesday, March 31, 2009 - Did you remember?
Hey everybody! Just a reminder; to mail those red envelopes today!!!!!! March 31st!!!!!!!
Y'all remembered right?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the info.
What:
Get red envelopes or postcards (http://www.zazzle.com/red_envelope_day_postcard-239994060870346187) and mail them on March 31st to the White House
When:
March 31st, 2009
Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to
President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500
On the back, write the following message.
This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.
We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.
Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.
It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.
Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.
The event wall is not for discussion regarding the abortion issue. If you don't agree with this event or what it stands for please do not attend.
Wall posts may be deleted for any reason.
Thank you.
Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, "Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That's the first thing that I'd do."
An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially “undo” every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)]. It will be quiet, but clear.
Please read more about The Freedom of Choice Act here:

Thursday, March 26, 2009 - Farm Day!
Hey everyone!
Guess what I got to do today?!! Well, actually I have to kind of start from the beginning so" what I go to do" and the details will come at the end.
It all started at church...see, our church has a pre-school they run...at church...called CLC [Christian Learning Center]. And every now-and-then they have fun things they do for the kids. One of them is a farm day. Today me and some of my homeschooled friends got to help as volunteers and it was extremely fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (extremeley fun....does that sound weird?)
That was the story and "what I got to do", now for the details.
"Fry's Farm" brought; around 10 albino bunnies, 3 or 4 brown bunnies, I don't know how many ducks and geese...probably about 7 in all, 5 or 6 chickens, 4 kids/goats (I think they are all kids, but I'm not sure), 3 (or was it 4...)pigs, a mini. donkey, a mini. horse, a calf, a.....Hey! Lookie there, I think that's all!
WHEW! Quite a few huh!? It didn't seem like that much in the pen though.
So what we did was;
we got there, we helped lay out the tarp, then set up the pen, then spread out a hay bale, then assisted in unloading the animals (the ones we were aloud to and supposed to that is), and that was it for setting up.
Then for the rest of the day we just helped the little kids pet and hold the animals...whithout strangling them. ;]
Well, that's pretty much it, except for a few details like earning pizza and the REALLY nice director getting us $10 gift cards!!....oh, and having to come home and do school.......... But it was worth it!
Ok, THAT was pretty much it. Now I'll stop
Jesus loves you!! --Micah
P.S. DON'T forget to mail those red envelopes!

I'm getting my red envelopes ready. How

Saturday, January 3, 2009 - 2 cool things
I got this off of thegirlizzie's blog;
Why do we sleep in church, but stay awake during a 2 hour movie?
Why is it so hard to talk about God, but so easy to gossip?
Why is it so easy to ignore a godly facebook or wallpost, yet we repost the rude ones?
Why are churches getting smaller, but bars and clubs growing larger?
Think about it. Are you going to repost this? Are you going to ignore it because you think you'll get laughed at? Would you have read this if it was titled "Read this in God's name"? 80% of you won't repost this.
Sad huh? I personally don't have a problem with more then at least 2 of those (not to brag, I'm just saying), but I'm sure thousands of people do.
This was on the same post that I copied that (^^^^) off of;
One day a 6 year old boy was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evoulution to the childeren. The teacher asked the boy:
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (he returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He just doesn't exist.
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions.
The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No.
LITTLE GIRL: It's because she doesn't have one.
Isn't that hilarious! It's a good point too! I'd read that before I just never posted it, and I thought I would since it was in the same post by thegirlizzie that I copied.
Just thought I'd share that so...............

Saturday, December 27, 2008 - Blog update!
Hey, everyone! How are you? I'm good, I'm pretty much over my cold (my brother got it, though ), except I have some SERIOUS updating to do so here is my update! Oh Wait! before I start, I should probably mention that this post is about my visit to the Cranes [parent's old youth ministers and 2nd cousins and my 3rd cousins], so to understand it you have to read a few previous posts if you haven't yet -- OK
1. We took the LONG drive down there and ate lunch at Taco Cabana in **City name here**. Then we drove the rest of the way which was no where near as long.
2. We did introductions [since we hadn't seen each other in forever] and got a tour of their house, which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
3. We just kinda hung around for a while; my mom with Mrs. Crane, my brothers and dad with Mr. Crane down at their shooting range (they're big time shooters, used to do it competitively), and me hanging around with Jesse, the dog they were dog-sitting.
4. I went down to the shooting range and tried my hand at it. 'Shot a 22 rifle ....I missed! ...But I shot one! Then went back to the house and hung out with Jesse some more.
5. Mr. Crane and I went and looked for the neighbors horses to feed them carrots, (all the Cranes horses died of old age..........BIG shocker to me and my family) but they weren't there. So we went back to the house. I stayed there but he went back to check on the ham he was smoking and the boys at the shooting range.
6. Then I went back to the shooting range and watched my brothers and Mr. Crane while sitting with my dad till they were done shooting.
7. We all walked back to the house and my me and Mrs. Crane started out to see if we could find the horses again......we did and we fed them carrots, then my mom and brothers and dad and Mr. Crane all gradually came out too!
8. We all walked back to the house and my mom, me, and Mrs. Crane started working on the sides for the meal while all the boys played Guitar Hero on the Wii. Then we ate the delicious meal!
9. After eating we sat at the table and talked, then me and my brother Ethan played Guitar Hero again, because I didn't get to and I wanted to.
10. Then I played with Jesse some more while the boys went outside and fired the firecracker gun! Then we all played Scatter-gories(sp?)............... BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED!!!!!
11. After that the boys and I went upstairs and played ping-pong while my mom and Mrs. Crane sat and talked and relaxed. Then we slowly left for the long drive back home, but had an interuption when we were about 3 minutes from our house.
12. Just before we turned into our neighborhood we saw the body of a car and my dad pulled over.......There was a suburban almost completely over-turned!!! Since my dad has experience [he's a fire-fighter] with accidents he went to see if he could help. Remember it was dark and on the side of a main road with a good amount of cars going about 40 mph! At 11:30 at night!!
13. No one was hurt though, so we continued the drive.....of like 3 minutes! And once we got home we all went to shower and SLEEP!
THE END!
Ok, sorry that was so long and if you think I added to much detail.....I'M SORRY!
Thanks for reading!
Jesus loves you all! --Micah

Friday, December 26, 2008 - Merry Christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas! (even though I'm late by one day!)
Well everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas and if you are reading this, you've (hopefully ) read the post before this and know what I did (am doing) for Christmas.
One thing (actually 100 things!) I got for Christmas was 80$ in 20 dollar bills [1 20 at grandma's, 2 20s from other grandma, and 1 20 from aunt nancy] and a 20$ gift card to Target from Aunt Melissa!!! So counting gift cards as money I now have roughly.............180$!!!
(Btw, I know it sounds kinda like I'm treating money as an idol, but I'm not. I just think it's really coincidental (sp??, is that a word??) that I got so many 20s!)
Comment or send a PM telling me what you did or got for Christmas! If you want to that is!
Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, October 2, 2008 - Which Lord of the Rings character are you?
I took this cool quiz at - http://geocities.com/mydigitalview/lotr_person.html and this is my status:

"You are most like Galadriel. There's just something about you that people like. A sort of aura. You're very kind to people, and you like to help others succeed. You're not as candid as most people would like. You don't have to share your deepest darkest secrets, but be more honest about things! You're more mature than most people your age, so don't worry!"

About Me
Hello! This is my blog where I will post tags, awards, and interesting things that happen in my life. I probably won't post about EVERY interesting thing in my life, but if it's something worth writing about and I can think of words to put down about it, I will. I hope y'all enjoy it! -- Micah H.
