Sunday, November 2, 2008 - Re:Union

So tonight was Re:Union. (just so you know, re:union is a get together that all of the students get together and have dinner together, have some content time, and do weird stuff. i mean weird. =-]) It was lots of fun. Nutmeg's mom took me there and my bro and I took her home. Re:Union just has a way of brightening my mood! i don't know what it is!!!!!! i just feel so happy! except for a few things that are going on in my life. if you guys are wanting to pray for me in any way, please please PLEASE pray for my heart to soften. that Christ would show me what life is like in other's shoes, and to not be so self-centered. I am also having some stress right now with school. i really want to excel, but...science is probably the biggest issue. i want to keep my grades up, but i'm getting like B minuses. and i don't even have my grades in yet. i just...feel like i'm failing. have any of you ever felt that way? that no matter what you do you always seem to fail? i feel like that. *sigh*
BUT...God is faithful. always remember that. He won't ever let me fall. He won't break any of His promises. I can put all of my faith in Him no matter what happens.

i don't really know what it is, but i feel like so many promises are being broken right now. i'm not sure what it is. maybe i'm just putting my trust in the wrong things. (heh, that's what G-reg was talking about 2nite!) I need to have my trust in God. these earthly things and people and earth itself is not reliable. that's not meant to be taken in a wrong way at all, but i just can't rely on this world. all around me is sinking sand, but Christ is my rock, my salvation. my hope. my strength.

my life.
so i will take up my cross each and every day to follow Him. I will choose to die to myself every day, never regretting losing this world, because i gain eternity. i gain Christ. i gain freedom. and i gain a hope that will never let me down.

ever.

wow, i guess God is really teaching me about trusting Him, right? :-) my fingers probably went faster than my mind just now. :-P

ya, Re:Union was great. G-reg (our leader) taught us about authentic faith. we've been talking about this for a while and we will be talking about this for a while.

"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the convictions of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

that's our verse. definitions:

assurance: confidence
hope: expect
conviction: evidence.

we have to put our hope in Christ-our expectations in Christ. because He's the only one that will meet our expectations. =-]

i need to head to bed. great talkin' to y'all! (that was totally random. :-P)
luv,
Sunshine
Joshua 21:45

Saturday, November 1, 2008 - The Faithfulness of God

I felt really compelled to write this fine evening. I was going over my Google Reader (it's the bomb) and i noticed my friend Nutmeg had written a few new posts. (check out her blog at www.breakingintolife.blogspot.com) Her latest post talked about how the road of life takes us many places, but we can't see around the bend sometimes and we have to rely on God.

I don't really know why i am urged to write tonight. maybe there's someone reading this that just is at a point in their life where they don't know if they can trust God. it feels uncomfortable. it feels dangerous. it doesn't sound like a good idea, because you aren't in control. i'm at that point! my life is so full of twists and turns i can't keep track. lately i've been going through a rough time just trusting people. there's been quite a few people in my life that have just...not held up to their word. it gets kind of frustrating, you know? not being able to rely on people.

the Israelites were really a stubborn people. God took a big risk when he chose them to be his CHOSEN people. after God delivered them from Egypt (like he said He would), the Israelites sinned against God. so God had them wander in the desert for 40 years. during this time, God gave them manna, which, we're not really sure what that was, but it sustained them. God was so faithful in giving His kids the food they needed and didn't let them starve. He kept His covenant with them.

then, the Israelites sinned again and again and again and AGAIN! they just couldn't learn their lesson. (sounds like America....and me for that matter.) As I was reading through Deuteronomy, Joshua, and Judges, i noticed that God didn't stop feeding them manna until they had defeated the Caananites and everyone else in that area, until they could sustain themselves. God took care of each and every Israelite until they could provide for themselves and they were done with those desert days. how awesome is that? i would have been tempted to just leave them there and let them starve. they were a stiff-necked and twisted generation. (although, we all are, right?)

my point here is that God is completely faithful. not one of the promises that God promised to Israelites' forefathers or the promises that God made to the Israelites was forgotten. He fulfilled every single one.

every
single
one.

there's a song that the worship leader at our church leader wrote that came from Habakkuk 3. this is some parts of it that really touch my heart and remind me that even though i'm gonna go through hard times and it may seem like i'm in a desert, i will trust in the Lord, because the Lord will never, ever, ever let me down.

ever.

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop may fail
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls.

yet I will rejoice in the Lord.
yet I will rejoice in the Lord.

I will be joyful in God! I will be joyful in God!
I will be joyful in God my Savior!
I will be joyful in God! I will be joyful in God!
I will be joyful in God my Savior!

The soverign Lord is my strength! He makes my feet like that of deer!
The soverign Lord is my strength! He enables me to go on the hights.

God, remind me that when i rely on myself, i stand 0% chance against anything. but if i rely on you, i have a 1000% chance. Lord, please, remind me that you never fail. you never falter. you are perfect. you never break a promise, and you never make a promise that you won't keep. you are magnificant. you are absolutely trustworthy with evertything and anything. thank you for being there. thank you for not abandoning your children in the wilderness, and thank you for not letting go of this generation that hates you and rejects you. open their eyes, and send workers out into the harvest field, for it is ripe with the harvest. Lord I love you, and I pray that you would enable me to serve you with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind. Thanks again...

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - Hollywood and my 100th entry!

I promised i would put the story of my trip on my 100th entry...so here it is! there's some pictures afterward. the pics in the slideshow need to be seen 1st. post lots of comments! i still only have 99!

So our first flight was from Dayton International Airport to Dallas, Texas. My dad and I were a little worried, b/c the Dallas airport is one of the biggest in the U.S. But, we made it.
There was a woman sitting next to me whose name is Nadine. She has a very interesting story! (I'm gonna tell you in a storylike manner:)

"Have you studied WWII yet in school?" Nadine asks me. She looks me in the eye beneath silver-rimmed glasses and wise eyes.
"I will be in the next week or two. Why?" I respond.
"Well, I was part of the WASP. Do you know what that was?"
I think for a minute. "No, but it does sound familiar."
"I was a pilot for the WASP in 1943-1944 for World War Two."
"Really?!? Wow!" I say to her, admiring her pilot's jacket she happened to be wearing and all of the history in her soul.
Our plane was landing, to my dissapointment, knowing that I had missed out on lots of history!
"Do you live in Ohio?" she asks me.
"Yes! Do you?"
"I sure do!" she chuckles with amusement. "Do you ever go to the Air Force Museum?"
"We go at least once a year, yes," I say.
"When you go next, go into the WASP section. On the wall with biographies of women who flew, find the one for Nadine Nigel. My biography will be there, and so will a manikan wearing my clothes!"
We were now taxiing into the terminal and the pilot of our plane was turning of the "buckle seat belt" sign.
"It was very nice meeting you and I hope to see you again!" Nadine said as her friend helped her with her cane down the aisle.
"Yes, definitely!"

isn't that cool?!?! her friend gave me her phone number and stuff so i can maybe set up an interview with Nadine! I'm so happy! (I"m a history nut :-P)
we got into texas.
We saw some pretty kool stuff on our way from Dallas to LAX (the LA airport). we flew over Arkansas, New Mexico, and Southern Calif.
I rode on my first taxi ever!  that was fun! the next few pics are from LAX to the Hotel and our hotel...the Renassaince Hotel on Hollywood and Highland!

so....thursday morning we went to the SPA! it's called the SpaLuce. my dad got a massage (he's so lucky) and i got a manicure with a French tip. it was SO relaxing.

then we went down Hollywood Blvd. i have some pics from the walk of fame, but i can't really show you all of the pics b/c we took so many of stars! but, the first person that met me on Hollywood Blvd was Darth Vader. we light-saber fought for a few minutes and then he wanted my pic w/ him! so yeah. that was cool.

The Premiere!

the premiere was fantastic. if you haven't seen Fireproof yet, you need to see it. if you're married, this is a MUST. if you're not married, it still is a great movie. it taught me so much about love and what love really is. it made me take a look at my own relationships as a girl with my family and friends. it was really great!

after the premiere we hung out on the balcony overlooking the rest of the ArcLight theater for about an hour. radio stations were doing live interviews with Kirk Cameron, Erin Bathea, and Alex Kendrick. they needed a buzz in the background, so all of us stayed for a little while!

it was then that i met Kirk Cameron. i really enjoyed talking with him for the few minutes i did. he sounded like a very gentle and outgoing kind of guy. he had a firm handshake, which i really respect. :-) one or two photographers (one of which was from the people that gave us the trip) wanted our pictures, so we stood in front of the poster and had pictures.

Erin Bathea came over shortly after that and asked if I was [Sunshine]. (inside i was going like, "how did she already know my name?!?!? this is so awesome!!!!) i said yes and we talked for a few minutes. then....(ugh.) more pictures. my dad made sure he got some too. :-)

then Alex Kendrick came over. Alex wrote (with his brother Stephen) and starred in Facing the Giants (he was the football coach and husband who couldn't have kids). then, Alex and his brother Stephen wrote and directed Fireproof. so it was really neat talking with him. unfortunately, we couldn't get any pics with him! he was really busy right then, and we didn't really get to socialize with him much.

then all of us walked across the street to the Fireman's Museum. that was really cool! all of that history packed in there...wow. there was a little red carpet on the dark brick ground, and there was a Fireproof backdrop for pictures. lots and lots and lots of pictures were taken. it seemed like through the whole night, random people were introducing themselves to us! like, people would come up and say, "Are you [Sunshine] from [the people who sent us on the trip]?" and i would just (politely) say, "yes I am! this is my dad. what is your name?" and that's how about 7-10 conversations were started. :-)

out of the blue, towards the end of the night, a photographer came and asked if i was [Sunshine], yada yada. he then said that i needed to come with him, and i said okay. he took me around the press and onto the red carpet. "I need to get your pictures on the red carpet! so just turn this way a little...." and he directed me how to stand. can you believe it?!?!?!?!? i got to get pictures on the red carpet!!!!!! WOW is all i can say! my dad emailed the guy a few days ago and we got the pictures over the internet. (Mom will probably hang on to those forever! haha!)

there wasn't too much left of the afterparty when Wendy (basically our "contact" woman. she told us everything we needed to know!) introduced us to one of the museum's tour guides. my dad, a friend Chelsea and I got our own personal tour of the museum! it was so cool...i'm a history freak, so i absolutely loved it! the only downfall was that i had to take off my high heels during the tour...i had worn them for like more than four hours and it was miserable....but everything else drowned that out!

after we got back to the hotel, we ordered dinner. that's kind of funny for us, b/c it was like 10:30 at night! which would have been…..1:30 Ohio time. YIKES!

our flight home was pretty normal. the only thing "exciting" that happened was that we passed through SO MANY cool states. then our plane from Chicago to Ohio was incredibly small…*shudder*. but overall it was great!

I'm thanking God all the time for that wonderful blessing….I'll never forget it!

here's pics:

gotta go back to school! luv u all!

For Today…Monday, October 13

Outside my Window…outside the basement window is the deck, and beyond that is our acreage of beautiful grass and white raspberry bushes and blackberry bushes and fruit trees! a beautiful day!

I am thinking…remembering when i'm supposed to fix the baby a bottle and estimating how much time i have until i need to leave for piano lessons

I am thankful for…wow...everything! umm..the leisure of fixing a salad and being able to have these wonderful white-chocolate-chip cookies!

From the kitchen…i just made myself a salad with deli turkey meat, raisins, nuts, romaine lettuce, french dressing. and a cookie.

I am wearing...my jeans rolled up into capris, a bluish green tank top underneath my white-colorful-polka-dotted-shirt that says "this is my party shirt!"

I am reading…in my Bible-finishing up Numbers and reading in Luke, Skies Over Sweetwater, Rilla of Ingleside

I am hoping…that i will be able to finish my compare and contrast paper before this quarter is over :-P

I am creating...my compare and contrast paper, and a short story that i'm gonna enter in the library contest in December!

I am hearing…"Believe" by Britt Nicole on my music player, my dog barking, and me typing

Around the house…my grandma peggy is taking a nap and my other grandma is over at her own part of the house. probably watching tv.

One of my favorite things…books, blogging, and writing.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...today i have piano lessons, tomorrow...nothing! yay! wednesday..house church, and thursday is our big championship game!

I accomplished since last week…tidying my room and last week's history questions

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - Killing the procrastionation spider....

So i just got back from my first night at a new house church! it was superb! i luv the people and we had a great discussion. our assignment for next week (which is our quad-prayer week) is to think of two or so people you would like to diciple/build a really strong relationship with. i already probably have the two people...but i won't share till i know! haha. :-)

so while my mom and I were praying tonight (it's a nightly thing we do), my mom was praying for my knee. it's really been acting up and i have been having trouble walking lately. a thought came to me, that my pain...really is teaching me something. i have everything within my reach to help decrease this pain, but i'm not doing it. i'm PROCRASTINATING. it's my addiction. it's my idol. i thrive on procrastination. it's a sin, i know. i need to realize every day is a war with my idol. i have to kill it, every day. i have to kill it, and then surrender myself to the wonderfulness of getting things done. it's really tough for me, especially with our new foster baby, but procrastination is a very bad habbit.
i have all of the tools i need for exercising my knee and strengthening it.
i have a place to go to for a knee brace.
i have excellent shoes that help both my back and knee pain.

i really don't have any room to complain. i just have to get off my butt, stop thinking about doing things and just do them. my first step is that when i read, i'm gonna exercise while i do it. when i read my history or for free reading, i'm gonna stretch out and do my simple exercises that take little effort.

please be in prayer for me as i go through this. it's definitely painful, but it needs to be done. my relationships count on it. my relationships at HOME depend on it. my whole life depends on it.

and while we're on the subject of prayer, please pray for my mom. the baby has been a little fussy lately, and it's been going from hot to cold, and the baby doesn't really enjoy that. :-) thx!

I'll talk to you later.....have a great day!

love,
Sunshine

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - Major camping

so...Ike really hit us hard, even though we aren't in Texas! Sunday afternoon, 50 or so mph winds blew through Ohio, KT, and some of Indiana...i think...so we didn't have power at 2:00 p.m. it's kind of funny, cause almost every time we go to the grocery, the power goes out. so we have like, $300 worth of food in coolers! we almost couldn't find ice  (we went to like 3 places) then we went today and got some more. my friend Nutmeg (breakingintolife.blogspot.com) said we could come over and shower and do laundry, so we did a load of baby clothes and i took a shower. it's amazing how much damage there is! i'm actually at the library right now, and my brother says i should get off....we have to be home by dinner time. (that sounds like something my grandparents would say to my parents when they were my age going out to play for the day! "be back by supper time!" lol...i like that.)

ttyl! i'm hoping we'll get power back soon....hopefully....please be in prayer for us! that it doesn't get too hot!

Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - Politics

okay, so you really just can't have a blog without talking about politics. who am i kidding? i have too big of a mouth to keep quite about politics! haha

so i'm DEFINITELY for John McCain, officially. After watching the Presidential Forum that Pastor Rick Warren gave in August, I found lots of differences in the two candidates. Mom let me do a compare and contrast paper on it, so i'm working on that!

Things in which John McCain and I belive:
-A baby gets its rights at the moment of conception
-Marrige is the sacred union between one woman and one man
-American freedom is worth dying for
-America needs to be able to look past its self-interests

there's a lot more...but those are major ones. I really think it was smart for McCain to choose Sarah Palin for VP, b/c 1-she's a woman (haha) 2-she's governor of Alaska, and there's a bunch of oil there 3-she believes in adolecance and doesn't think it's right to fund sex-ed classes (amen!). Plus, she's got a baby with Down's syndrome! how hard has that got to be?

My mom and grandmother's informed me today of something that revolted me.

Sarah Palin said that the only difference between a hockey mom and a pitt bull is lipstick. she was just joking around, but Obama came back and said, "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it still makes it a pig".

what was that for?

this election seems to just be getting more and more ugly! pray that this election will work itself out and that it will not turn into an all-out war. God desires humility and love, not snide remarks. which, by the way, both sides are doing. :-/

but, on a happier note...

plesase post your comments! i love comments! haha

my first game was Monday night! we did pretty good, but we still have some stuff to work on. we tied 1-1. i have an MRI Saturday morning for my knee, so i can't go to our game! :-( *sigh* oh well.

PLEASE check out this blog....http://photidzo.blogspot.com/...one of my best friends has this blog and it always inspires me! it sets me on fire for the Lord! she went to Nicaragua this summer and was such a blessing to the people there. Enjoy!

i have to go! soccer practice 2nite!

Thursday, September 4, 2008 - Finally! UUGGHH!

i can't believe it's already been a month since i've posted! i don't know what to start with...gosh....

well, since i don't have too much time, i'll do the most recent...WE GOT A FOSTER BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am SO excited! I'm not allowed to say her name....(it's too complicated to explain...) but I call her Little Woman! lol so she was born Thursday, August 21. We got her Saturday, August 23. For the first few days, Little Woman would sleep all day and stay awake all night! my mom didn't really like that. :-) i would take a 5:30 am shift until about 8 or 8:30. it's so adorable whenever we got clothes and stuff for her! on her first visitation with her mom and dad, we got a full trashbag of clothes and blankets for Little Woman! I couldn't believe it...maybe that means that they are gonna work for her? maybe? i dunno. we're probably gonna be hearbroken whenever she leaves, but we're gonna treat her like one of the family!

VBS was great to say the least. I could see God moving throughout the whole week! Every night before we went on stage, us four girls went backstage to get our hair done. it was great! Mrs. Diana (one of the adult dancers) brought colored hair spray, so we would do our hair wild and color it different every night! The Theme was "Power Lab". did any of you guys have VBS with that theme? i know you did, Nutmeg...you were there! lol
so my brother got to be the "mad scientist". he actually dyed his hair orange and red for the part! it's supposed to be semi-permanent....but since he highlighted his hair before he colored it, it's kind of permanantly strawberry blonde...it looks really good on him!
what was fun was that they did experiments every night, and one of them was dry ice and soap. the first time it didn't work, b/c they had gotten the dry ice the night before, and by the time they were gonna use it, it had almost completely evaporated. :-P they didn't check it before that night! lol so they did it agian the last night and it went better.
my job (along with Liz) was to teach the pre-schoolers a song after they listened to the story. all of the 5th and 6th graders were pre-school leaders, so i got to talk to all of them all night! that was fun! i had to get them motivated, though, to do the songs, since all of the pre-schoolers loved them! one in particular was hard...i won't say his name. :-) but me and his sister were trying to get him to dance and we just couldn't budge him! lol
The finale was great! I had to set the energy in the room, though. Since it was the last night, i thought, we might as well just go crazy. so on some of the songs, we were supposed to jump up every once ina while, and a few of the songs were really upbeat. so i made everyone jump almost the whole time we were singing! it was great. It was kinda funny b/c the pre-schoolers were running late, so when i got into the theater, they were already starting to sing! i couldn't get my mic on or anything, so i just sang and danced without one. i think they heard me good enough though. :-P lol

i need to go...i've got lots more to say but there's a homeschool picnic i'm going to and i have to get ready! ttyl!

Love,
Sunshine

Wednesday, July 16, 2008 - Beauty and the Beast

Today I went to a local dinner theatre to see Beauty and the Beast live! It was so much fun! I loved the actors. They were amazing. I hadn't remembered what Beauty and the Beast was like b/c it's been so long since i've seen the movie. But it was great! I met up with a friend and her grandparents to go to the theatre. it was for her 13th b-day! I made her a hemp bracelet. our lunch was a big buffet. i had breaded cod (YUM), peas, chicken tenders, pinapple sufle, sweet potato sufle, and a salad with mango-chutney dressing. the dressing is SO delicious that I bought a bottle of it! :-P

that lasted for about 4 hours. i left home today around 9:30 a.m and got home at 4:30 p.m. :-)

Mom is finally letting me read the adult series of Left Behind! I'm so excited, I'm on book 26 of the kids series of Left Behind. I just found out that Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins made 3 prequels to the Left Behind series. I'm not allowed to read them though because mom hasn't read them yet and you never know if there's gonna be adult stuff in there. u know?

God has been talking to me so much! it's great! Lately I've been learning about how to reflect God's glory. I'm reading "It's not about me: Live like you mean it" by Max Lucado. Today I read about acting like a mirror for God. He wants us to reflect the Son and send out a saving message!

Take some time to really realize God. His love is more than you can imagine! He's THE saving Savior! He's THE Shepherd of your soul! He's THE One and Only.

He's my Abba. is He yours?

Wednesday, June 25, 2008 - fun week @ camp!

wow! i have had an absolutely AWESOME week at camp!

Monday morning we left around 11. i was in the car with four other girls (three 6th graders and one leader) as we headed down to Georgetown College in KY!! we got there around 1 or 1:30. after playing a quick game, registering, and getting our nametags, we went up to our dorm.

the girls had three hallways out of four on the third floor of Allen Hall. We unpacked, got settled, got our keys, got familiar with the bathrooms and our leaders rooms. then we had a little "mini meeting" about food and showers and rooms and bedtime and stuff like that. (it turns out that my friend who was supposed to go didn't show up. i was SO dissapointed....but I have to know that God is in control!) I roomed with two other girls (I'll call them Rimanda and Lizzy). i kind of had a hard time eating there on campus because there were only five things to choose from each meal, and almost all of them had dairy in it. :-) i took a lot of my own food, so i survived!

Tuesday morning started early. because of this--------

there was a woman (not in our church) who was up dressing and showering before 6 am (crazy woman). so she was spraying hairspray in the room, when suddenly the fire alarm goes off. in my dorm room, i wake up first, so i grab my Bible, wallet, key, and one shoe (haha). i yelled at Lizzy and she got up immediately, but Rimanda wouldn't wake up. so i screamed, "[Rimanda]! The fire alarm is going off, so get your butt out of bed!" she was up instantly.
we all rushed outside, the fire department came, and the fire chief went in to confirm it was a false alarm. he told us not to spray hairspray or anything else in the rooms, but do it in the bathrooms. :-/ yeah okay, but it woke us all up at 5:45 AM!!! UGHH! (lol)

so this was our schedule for Tuesday--Thursday:

7:30 am-breakfast
8:30 am-Quiet Time with church group
9 am- I can't wait...
9:30 am-Bible Study/Rec
12pm-lunch
1:30 pm-Track A
2:45 pm-Track B
3:45 pm-free time
5:30 pm-dinner
6:30 pm-worship
7:30 pm-Church Group Time
8:30 pm-Party
10:15 pm-in room
10:30- lights out

let me break this down:

breakfast: obviously, we go to the dining hall and have breakfast. simple as that.

Quiet time with church group: my little church group consisted of Rimanda, me, [i'll call this girl] C.J, Vasannah, Madizzle, and our leader was C. Long (these are all nicknames!). we each got a devotional booklet that had our morning devotionals in it and we did one each morning. after we did them, we met as a church group and discussed them, prayed over each other, and headed out to I can't wait....

I Can't Wait...: this was a time to get you rowdy for camp and stuff. the sorted you into your Bible Study group (mine was the Screenplays-by the way, this theme was called "Lights, Camera, Action!").

Bible Study/Rec: Bible Study was when we played games and discussed that day's theme with each other. each Bible Study group had around 3-4 kids from each church, randomally chosen. after that, we played games during rec against the other Bible Study groups and won a "golden poppy" ( a stuffed toy that looked like a box of popcorn with eyes and a mouth that was spray painted "gold") which was for the best team.

Lunch: self explainitory

Track A: at the beginning of the week, we chose what were called tracks. my first pick was Archery, so i did Archer from 1:30-2:45. it was SO much fun!

Track B: we also chose a track b. My first pick was Drama, so i did drama! i really didn't do much, but we did something called "a full day of camp in 2 minutes". different people imitated track times, worship, party, Bible study, all that stuff. i did a track time and imitated doing archery. it was great! everyone loved it when we performed it!

Free Time: Tuesday during free time a lot of girls from our church went to this indoor pool. Wednesday, there was a big volleygame between the Bible study leaders and the church leaders! the Bible study leaders won. :-P Thursday, almost half the camp went to this outdoor water park! it was my first time going on a big slide, bigger than the one at the local waterpark. :-)

Dinner: self explanitory

Worship: for me, this was the best part of the week! we sang some songs that were just so powerful, i found myself wanting to fall on my knees! one song said in the chorus,

"Savior, He can move the mountains.
My God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save.
Forever, Author of Salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conqored the grave!"

it also said,

"Everyone needs forgiveness,
the kindness of a Savior.
Let mercy fall on me!
Everyone needs compassion!"

it was so amazing. i saw kids everywhere lifting there hands and heads just praising our God! what a wonderful sight it was to see!

Church Group Time: this was where our church met in our room for some teaching and prayer. then we would break up into small groups and discuss the day and prayers and such.

Party: this was when we played games, had blaring music, had competitions and stuff. it was SO cool!

In Room and Lights Out: self explainitory, but we had story time one night in the girls' room! it was really cool. our room stayed up till like 1:30 every night and woke up at 6:30.

i gtg...please check out my blog "Blessed with Grace" on www.prayinglikejabez.blogspot.com

Sunday, June 15, 2008 - a blog entry with out a title

last night we went to El Rancho Grande for dinner. My mom and my dad took me and we met my grandpa and his girlfriend there for Father's day, since today we couldn't do anything. On Friday, Dillon, me, my mom, and one of my grandmas went out and did yard work for Father's Day. I got up at 6:30 (i always get up that early) and pulled weeds until 7:15 and i had to dust off all the dirt quickly cause dad was coming downstairs! i barely made it! lol then Dillon trimmed bushes and all of us laid down fresh mulch. daddy loved it!

oh, about El Rancho Grande...it's official now that I am COMPLETELY allergic to dairy of any kind. :-( it only used to be lactose, but now it's any kind of dairy. which is sad. but my mom and brother both have the same problem, so it's okay! we all suffer together. :-)

Dillon left for camp this morning around 6:30. i got up with mom and dad and we prayed for him before he left. he's going to J-Creek in Kentucky for a week. tomorrow I'm leaving for a different camp, called Centri-Kids at Georgetown College in KY. i'm so excited cause I"m taking a friend who's not a Christian and we're gonna have so much fun! plus, all of the 1000+ kids get twin beds! AND we get to sleep in the dorms! i get a taste of college life! lol

Nutmeg is in Haiti right now! i'm so happy for her! (if you didn't know, we live like 6 minutes away. and we're best friends.) she gets to finally meet the boys! yay! please pray for her and her mom and their trip! they'll get back on Saturday...i think...

here are some quizzes i took!
You Should Live in the Suburbs
Like many people, you like the city - but you don't want to live in it.
For you, the suburbs is the perfect compromise.
You can enjoy the city as much as you want, but you have a quiet, safe neighborhood to come home to.

You Would Be a Pet Dog
You're friendly, loyal, and an all around good sport. People love to be near you.
You are very open with your feelings, and you're quite vocal in expressing them.
You are sincere and kind. You love many people - without any sort of agenda.

Why you would make a great pet: You're content to chill out with your friends

Why you would make a bad pet: You always find yourself getting into trouble

What you would love about being a dog: Running around and playing

What you would hate about being a dog: Being left home alone while everyone else is out having fun

You Are a Phoenix
Driven and ambitious, you tend to acquire material success easily.
You have grand schemes - both for your own life and for changing the whole world.
You are a great leader, and you have no problem taking the reigns.
However, you aren't all business. You also have great talents for performing and visual arts.

so Parvarti won Survivor this season! I'm so happy for her, although i desperately wanted Amanda to win. and I SO wanted Ozzy to propose! He said that he loved her on national tv!!! it was SO cute!

David Cook won American Idol! OHMGOSH I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol I put "Dream Big" on my project playlist...just so you know...

so 2 Fridays ago i got a new phone! YAY!! it's SO cool it's a new enV2. this is my 1st "real" phone, with bills and stuff. :-P my other one was a tracfone. but Nutmeg might be getting my old one, which would be awesome because we could txt! lol

Monday night Nutmeg came over and spent the night. we stayed up till like 1 o'clock watching "The Ultimate Gift". you know, that movie is a LOT different than the book. I just got finished with the book, but it was so...not like the movie, i guess. cause the movie was a romance, but the book had nothing to do with it! so i dunno...but we had lots of fun!

so i got to teach my house church this week...it was so much fun! we're studying James and I got James 1:19-27. I only got halfway through my notes and stuff because of time...but our leader is gonna finish it for me. :-) Dillon has been working for a local pool of ours as a lifeguard, so he couldn't teach for me.

then on Thursday i went to the pool with Nutmeg and her family. we had so much fun! afterwards we went to Nutmeg's house and I spent the night there. i helped her with babysitting, which was pretty easy cause her sibs are really good! [Nutmeg, tell them I said that! lol :-)] We went to the pool again on Friday and I got some MAJOR sun. surprisingly, the burn turned into tan yesterday! that's great, cause I am SO white...lol

yesterday was a big referee tourney. i made 16 more buck than i planned to! i picked up a 6 o'clock game. this ref i reffed with was SO comical. the serious way that he spoke and joked was just SO hilarious. that doesn't exactly sound right...but it is! lol

i gtg now...i'll try to keep up posting! bye!

Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Reffing in 28 degree weather, Dillon coming home, and the Spiderwick Chronicles

so this morning my dad and i left around 6:45 to go to a soccer tournament. i had to wear Under Armor cold gear, my Adidas jacket, and my long-sleeve yellow referee shirt. plus a hat with a headband, Under Armor shorts, my referee shorts, my knee brace, referee socks, and cleats. it took a while to get dressed this morning! so the first game was REALLY cold. it was still dark and there was still frost on the ground. my toes were frozen, and they didn't unfreeze until the second game. but overall, it was great! the field was right next to a port-o-potty (that was a HUGE plus. lol. referees love port-o-potties) and we could park the car right next to the field instead of walking from across the park. when my dad and I had done our three games, we went to the ref tent and got some pizza! and chips! and Pepsi! YUM!

Dillon (my brother) came home from Nashville today! i'm so happy. i missed him SO much. a few weeks ago, my mom and I were going through a bunch of pictures we had found and we found a picture of Dillon behind the bar at the Hard Rock Cafe. this bartender was letting Dillon pull the beer! it is SO cute! and Dillon was only about 2-3 years old. so on Thursday or Friday (i can't remember) Dillon and the other college students went to the Hard Rock Cafe and Dillon got a chance to do it again! they let him behind the bar and pull a beer. it is so cool. so now he can show the two pictures at his graduation!

so yesterday my mom was looking through the paper (we only get Thursday and Sunday) and she came across the movie times. we saw the "Spiderwick Chronicles" there and so we looked online and it was showing at 12:10 so we went and saw it! it was so spur of the moment! plus, we never get to do anything just the two of us. the movie was really graphic, like, grossly graphic. the goblins were so disgusting! but the fairies were really pretty. :-)

i'm gonna go. there's still some crocheting I have to do!

Saturday, March 22, 2008 - {Pictures}

well, I finally got some pics posted. i am actually going to start posing them on another blog:

homeschoolblogger.com/OddsandEnds

the pics are gonna be HUGE because i'm not really allowed to use photobucket anymore. :-( mom was on there the other day and I guess she saw something really bad. so I can't even upload my own photos on there! :-l so they r gonna be GINORMOUS!

what a good Saturday morning it is. if you live partly in the country, you know what I mean! with all of the birds singing outside your window, the fields of grass, all that good stuff. even though it is cloudy, I still think of it as a great Saturday! i'm gonna be cleaning all day. :-) lol. we're actually going to church tonight and then we're going to our friends' church launch in the morning. after that, we're going to my great-gramma's house for a few minutes and then we're going straight to my other great-gramma's house for dinner. we're gonna be SO busy!

have you ever made resurrection cookies? they are so fun to make and they really make telling the Easter story fun, especially for younger kids. ask your parents if you can make them tonight!

could you guys pray for my Gramma P.? she's really sick. she just got home a few minutes ago (she wasn't supposed to be home till later) but she's in the bathroom vomiting. :-((( i feel so sad for her! she may not get to see her mom tomorrow! that would be bad. please pray!

on Wednesday I started piano lessons with a new teacher. she's Tasha's older sister! (I don't know what she wants me to call her yet....I forgot! :-P) i'm so happy but sad at the same time, cause i have to leave my other teacher (pics of me and her on OddsandEnds) which is really sad but my new teacher is helping me so much already and we've only been together for a week! she just really challenges me and that's great, since [by the grace of God] I want to be a music teacher when i'm older!

hope everyone has a good Easter! talk to you soon!

Friday, March 7, 2008 - something to think about

okay, this is really cool. our leader of housechurch showed us this website, and it tells you how rich you are. but it also tells you what you can do with your money, like with $2400 you could buy a modern-day HDTV or schooling for an entire generation of school children in an Angolan village. think about that! or $8 could buy you 15 organic apples OR 25 fruit trees for farmers in Honduras to grow and sell fruit at their local market. here's my widget!

I'm the 1,488,503,335 richest person on earth!

Discover how rich you are! >>

just something to think about as you start your day! or end it...give thanks to God for what you have and don't be selfish with your money, time, or love....BE GENEROUS!!

Friday, March 7, 2008 - Lots and Lots of snow!

Wow, I've never seen so much snow blowing everywhere! it's like a sand storm, but with snow! I don't have any pics, but i'm sure you can imagine it. :-)

besides that, there's really not much going on. I'm kind of having a dry spot in my walk with God, but I'm getting through it! I've been really interested in Revelation lately, and I've been reading through that. but I'm also going through another Bible study, and today I learned the importance of the virgin birth. In Genesis 3:15 it says that there would be enmity between the serpent's offspring and the woman's. but what the real point is is that if Jesus was not born of Mary, a virgin, and who concieved by the Holy Spirit, He would have been born of man. and He would be an offspring of man, which would have sin in his life. but He was born of the Holy Spirit, so He had no sin, since the Holy Spirit had no sin. makes sense, right? I think so!

Sara's whining at me, so I need to go. plus we might play Euchre! gtg!

mom made some AWESOME angel food cake. it is SO good i could eat it all the time! but it's not that good for you, so i probably won't. plus my brother took it to housechurch, and assuming that everyone liked it, it won't make it back home.

Sunday, February 17, 2008 - Basketball game....last one of the season!

Today was our last basketball game of the regular season. we still have a post-season tournament to do, and that starts in a few days. today we did really bad (we lost 17-36) but yesterday was Awesome!!! we won by like 9 points and we really worked as a team. how wonderful!

I have been meditating on this passage for a while. here it is:

Colossians 3:5-14
5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

isn't that a great passage to live by? To clothe ourselves with humility, compassion, kindness, gentleness, patience, and love. i love it!

there's really not much to say....i got one of my friends from basketball's email address! so that's good. but seriously, i have nothing else to say! i will post pics later!

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?
oh wow. umm, in front of me there is a calendar, then some schedules for school, and to my right there is a white board with 1 Timothy 4:12 on it (see my links), then above my brother's desk is a map of the U.S, and in the school room there is peachy-coral colored paint and then behind me in the living room is brown paint. wow.

13. Seen anything weird lately?
yeah, but i'm not gonna say where or who! lol *mischevious grin* jk. *-)

14. What do you think of this quiz?

it's funny!

15. What is the last film or video you saw?
i don't really know, because I don't really watch movies, but I'm pretty sure it was National Treasure 2. great movie by the way.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
that's a pretty broad question! first of all, i would ask God what to do with it. plus i would tithe ten percent of it to him, of course! i would use it for God's will and whatever he wanted, but if it was for my family and i, here's what i'd do: well i'd do a few things. i would send my brother to seminary like he wants to, and pay for his college. then i would pay for my college. then i would make sure my whole family had no more debts. then i would send my whole family on a vacation anywhere they wanted. then i would get my whole family a new wardrobe.

17. Tell me something about you that I do not know.

I've been homeschooled since 1st grade.

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
i would have every family in the world hear about Jesus and the gospel, and then i would feed and house every family in the world.

19. Do you like to dance?
absolutely!

20. Comment to George Bush:
"Great job and keep up the good work"

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Essence or Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards). or Dayana.

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Ezekiel.

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
no idea what that is.

24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly   gate?
"Well done my good and faithful servant."

so today was homeschool skate. i had so much fun! Laura and I had some friends to skate with and it was lots of fun.

my Grandma Peggy got me some socks for valentine's day! i desperatly needed some, cause all of my others have holes in them. :-( i just don't like buying new socks, i guess! but now i have some. so that's awesome!

Sunday, February 10, 2008 - Spent the Night at Nutmeg's house

Hey! I don't have much time....but just wanted to say that i had a GREAT time at Nutmeg's house! i went and spent the night last night. i had a basketball game today, but the schedule said New Lebanon but it was actually in Lebanon, so we were in the opposite direction and way to far away to get there in time before the game ended. so i stayed home with my family!

i can't really post anything cause Nutmeg hasn't given me any pics yet of yesterday and today....but for right now just go to her blog to see pics!

Sunday, February 3, 2008 - Superbowl and Taco Soup

Crazy title, huh? well, today i went to church (just like always) and we've been talking about friendship. "He who walks with the wise grows wise, but he who is friends with a fool suffers harm". (Proverbs 13:20). so we've been taking our relationships really seriously these past few weeks!
After that i met up with Nutmeg (we go to the same church) and i went to her house! we played Scrabble until lunch, and we had taco soup. it was SO good! then we had some apple sauce and two cookies (chocolate chip, my favorite, i might add!) then we finished our Scrabble game (i won 169 to 170!). after that we played a game called Apple to Apple. it was fun! i don't really know who won, we just quit when it got boring.
then Nutmeg and I went to her room and talked and played on her keyboard since her youngest sister was having a nap. Then my mom and dad came and picked me up and came home!
We had flounder, pesto, and broccoli for dinner. i washed the dishes with my mom since my Brother was at homegroup (a super bowl party) and my gramma k. is sick! with what my mom and I had!
i've just been crocheting and updating my goodreads!

just wanted to post real quick. GO GIANTS!!!

Friday, February 1, 2008 - Dinner, Power Outages, and a new Blog

Well! I finally can post a blog entry! On Tuesday night i made dinner! i made chicken with stirfry, white rice, and ice cream with magic shell chocolate. and pretzles! here are the pictures...i made them into a slide show!

About 11:30 that night, there was a HUGE storm outside. it was threatning to become a torndado. my dad stuck his head out the window and he saw explosions! they were actually transformers blowing up all over towns and cities (we have a pretty good view, since we're at the top of the hill). daddy gathered all of us into the basement, and me, dad, mom, and my brother slept in the basement. the grammas went to their houses.
The next morning i woke up at 8:30 (my alarm wasn't working....no electricity!). i found that there was no electricity, so there was no heat, refrgerater, freezer, light, or (worst of all) INTERNET!!! so all day, i sat at my grammas house by the fire place and crocheted, read, and kept Sara up. my Brother was at College in the morning since it was Wednesday, so it was the grammas, me and mom. we couldn't eat anything besides pb&j, so gramma p. got a personal pan pizza from pizza hut; gramma k. got a sub from subway; and i used my birthday coupon for a free hamburger kids meal at burger king. the power finally came on at 5:00 p.m. YAY!
last night, i tried to write an entry but the power was going out and comming back on, so i didn't get a chance to publish an entry. :-( sorry for the delay!
but i am working on a blog that is for my spiritual walk. it's actually more of a witnessing blog, but it's also for my walk with God. if you want to see it, go to Walking by Faith and Praying Like Jabez. you can't leave comments, but if you want to leave like encouraging notes or whatever at prayinglikejabez@gmail.com. if you have friends that are not Christians, direct them to that page! i am going to post the gospel story on there too. you'll see when you visit it!

that's about all i have for right now....my camera doesn't want to let me upload photos onto my pc, so i can't show you my new beanie that i crocheted! it's blue and white with a blue flower and a white flower. i'm working on my brother's right now, it's brown and blue.

have a great day! please keep me and my mom in your prayers. we are still very sick!

Thursday, January 24, 2008 - Quick Post

Well, if you've come to my blog lately, you see i've changed it. AGAIN!! i'm just being creative. my brother is suprised at how much i know a lot about html! i've been in a mood for frogs lately, so i decided to make my blog with frogs.

i really don't have much to report....just that my mom is sick and she needs prayer. she thinks its the flu, so pray for her! she has a temp of 101 to 102 and she gets the chills often

yesterday i went with my mom and grammas and we went shopping for baby stuff! we got a stroller, LOTS of clothes at the salvation army and goodwill (only about $15 for tons of clothes!), a diaper bag, and a baby bath tub. someone from our homeschool group is giving us a crib with matress and bed sheets! so that's awesome.

in school i'm studying slavery and the Civil War. although i see nothing Civil about it! but i haven't even studied it yet this year....that's the next 2 weeks. but i think i have to write a short story about a slave girl that escapes through the underground railroad for writing....i'm working on it. but i requested my favorite books Amos Fortune: Free Man and If I Just Had Two Wings. and i got two other ones!

i should get Sara up...she's whining. but thanks, Razzberrylemonade, for awarding me for my short story!

Tuesday, January 15, 2008 - new poem

I just wanted to write real quick!! i just wrote a poem...here it is!!

Music's Ability

As I walked up to my piano bench,
My heart went up my throat.
Everyone was watching, burning holes into my neck
With their stare.
But as I sat down, my fingers took me away,
Far far away...
They flew over smiling daisies, lanky sunflowers, and
Deadly Venus Fly Traps.
They played with the dolphins, swam with the fish, and
Escaped from the most dangerous creatures.
They watched the lovers' first kiss, the epic of
Warrior and Heroine, and defined Happy Ever After.
They showed me what my boundaries were in the
Land of Imagination.
But there was no boundary.
And so I was taken to the ends of the Earth, to China,
and Rome, and France, and Alaska, and Africa.
They ran with the zebras and lions and antelopes.
They sang with the parrott and blue jay and rooster.
They led me to the end of our journey,
On a rock by the ocean.
Roaring applause filled my ears as I finished my piece,
and the daisies smiled at me once more.

gtg ttyl!!

P.S: this poem is actually a copyright, but i can't put my real name on here! so just so you know, don't copy it without my permission....it's copyrighted!! ;-)

so today i had a basketball game!! we played the best team in our area. we had played them already, but now it was our turn to go to their gym. so i think we beat them with skill, they just beat us with points because their shortest person was as tall as our tallest person (and that's saying something!!). but i made two jump shots! yay! but i'm praising God for it; he gave me the ability to make those shots. we lost 29-37 which was actually our best game yet! we played hard as a team and we did our best of the season. i don't think i've ever been this happy to lose a game!! :-)

my mom made snickerdoodles tonight! they are SO good. i want some more but other people haven't had very many and i had three already. but that's really the report for today! i have to get Sara up. bye!

Friday, January 11, 2008 - A title? I don't have one.

did you like my "title"? lol :-P i felt like being weird for a change. :-) so i've been busy lately! on the computer, i mean. today my research paper is due, and i still have to write 1 1/2 pages!!! and then revise it and edit it and add illustrations and such. but i think i can get it done!! my other school is pretty light, and i'm done with this week's TOG (besides reading the rest of Little Town on the Prairie). For the pas 9 weeks we've been studying pioneers and prairie people! it is SO much fun. and if you read my story (from December 15) it was about the prairie and stuff. one thing that i learned (who knows if this is good or not!!) that Nebraska coal is dried buffalo droppings!! EWWWW!!! and it was the GIRLS' job to collect Nebraska coal since wood was more expensive to burn!! yuck! but i never knew what that was until a few weeks ago!

yesterday was Thursday. we cleaned up the basement and vaccumed everywhere. i finally got my room a little organized, but that won't be there for long. you see, my mom and dad have been praying about it (and so have I) and we've decided that we're going to become a Foster Care family. the kids in our area that maybe have just been temporarily separated from their parent's because of being abused, or poor parenting, or for some other reason. and also for a temporary home before getting put up for adoption, or until the social services gets custody of the child. so our target age is like the youngest infant she can possibly get to like 2. my mom SO wants a baby, and since we can't really have another baby in the house, we though we should just foster care one. and, God commanded us to defend the cause of the weak and fatherless:
Psalm 82:3-4

 3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

 4 Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

i feel like God has really been on me about being a witness. I feel like i don't have much courage to stand up and tell a girl on my basketball team to quit cussing or to not use the Lord's name in vain. the Bible says to speak the truth in love(Ephesians 4:15), but it's just so hard. the girls on my basketball team despretly need Jesus, and I am their only source for it. would you please pray for me? i need opportunities to be a witness, and then i need courage to speak out. thanks!

In Christ,
Sunshine~*~

Wednesday, January 9, 2008 - School Days

Today has been filled with school! Reading and math and geography and launguage and everything in between! today for lunch i made myself a grilled turkey-pepperoni-mozzerella. then mom made some peanut butter between some Ritz crackers, and she dipped them in white chocolate. they are so good!! then with the remaining white chocolate we dipped some raisins in it. MMMMMM!!

for school (we're studying pioneers and stuff) i've been reading the Little House books. This week i'm reading Little Town on the Prairie. it's pretty good! it turns out i skipped quite a few books, so i might have to go back and read them. :^)

that's really about it! oh, i think my mom is ordering me some new Bible studies, since i'm almost done with my current ones. I've been doing the Women of Faith study series. so far I've done Cultivating Contentment and Managing Your Moods. I'm thinking about doing A Life of Worship next.

Well, I'll talk to you later!!

Saturday, January 5, 2008 - Blog Changes!!!

Hey! As you might be able to see, there have been some changes to my blog! there are gonna be alot of them..so beware! every time you come here you'll probably see something different until i can get everything just the way i want it!

so nothing has really happened. we had basketball practice on Wednesday and Thursday night, and we have a game tonight at 8:30!! the schedule said 8:30 a.m, but Coach Wolfe said that we are playing at night. that means we can't go to church tonight! and then we can't sleep in tomorrow!! *sigh* oh well. the team we're playing tonight has never played us before, and our first game was supposed to be against them, but they never showed up, so that was an automatic win for us!! unfortunatley, that was our only win of the season. but we still have like, 6 games  left. so we'll be okay!!

that's about it! we found out that we're getting rid of lady on Sunday. i don't really mind, since Lady hasn't really attatched to me at all!! my gramma really wants her to go, though. but anyway, i just felt like writing! ttyl!

Friday, December 28, 2007 -

Hey guys! wow has it been a week...so for Christmas i got a True images girl teen study Bible with my name engraved on the front in silver(!!!), some Nike sandals that i have been wanting for a long time, a new clock (which i desperatly needed), and this game called DANCE PRAISE!!! it's a Christian version of DDR. it's really fun, and my gramma got me the hip-hop and rap music to go with it. YAY!! i also got a nativity braclet that tells the nativity story, a keychain with my name on it and a Bible verse, and a little maze box with $100 in it! i had to get through the maze to get the $$$..so that was awesome!

and then the day after Christmas we see this white Brittany Spaniel (just like Sara) trotting around the back cornfield and whaddya know! she comes right up to our front door and sits there, waiting to be let in!!! so we looked at her collar (she did have one) and there was no tag on her. so we kept her in a big cage we have outside, like a big fenced in cage so she can run around and stuff. we put in some straw and a blanket, and we fed and watered her for two days. she didn't eat dry food, so we tried wet food and she gulped it down!! she's been running around for a week or two, and she is SOOOO skinny. and then today we took her to the doctor, since we couldn't find the owner and the owner didn't contact us (even though we posted her as a found dog on the internet) and she got a bath, toenails cut, ears cleaned, and vaccinations. she had some burrs in her hip and ear, but now they're not there. so she's all cleaned up and we're gonna keep her! she is gonna be an inside dog now, and she only eats wet food. :-) her name is now "Lady", and here's a picture of her at the bottom!

that's about my exciting week. oh, and i have a sinus infection and can't stop blowing my nose. :-) that's about it!

Saturday, December 22, 2007 - So much going on....

You know, now that i think of it, it's going to be a very busy Christmas! tomorrow night i'm going to my great-grandma Shanks' house, Christmas Eve I'm going to my grandpa Bob's house, and then Christmas morning my family is opening presents, and Christmas afternoon is going to my great-grandma Seedle's. whew!

so last night i spent the night with my friend, Sarah. we stayed up till 1 30, which actually isn't very late for a sleep over, but we were tired. this morning we woke up around 8. then we had a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast while watching the sun rise in the sun room. it was gorgeous! then we got dressed and started making our yearly tradition: cookies! we made chocolate chip and then decorated sugar cookies. they are SO good! we then went to Red Robin for lunch, and got to see Alvin and the Chipmunks in the theater! that was such a cute movie! you have GOT to see it, whether or not in the theater. then mom and dad came and picked me up, and here i am now, typing away after having a wonderful supper of meatloaf, green beans, and baked potatoes. yum-y!

so i've been testing my skill on the html coding stuff. if you want to see the sample blog go to .../SunshinesSamples. it will probably always be different every time you go there. :-)

It felt so good today! this softness and warm-cool tempertures are just not normal for Ohio! i was looking at the setting sun tonight and it just made me feel so good inside. the small, distant clouds with the wispy fading light of the sun. it was great. it's very relaxing to just sit there and admire the beauty of the sunset/sunrise. just drinking in the wonderful feeling of it is incredible. don't you think?

i should go now. by the way, my blog will be undergoing some MAJOR changes cause i'm trying to find just the right thing for it!

luv u all!
