More CVS shopping deals!

Posted in Frugal Living

Today I got 54 dollars worth of makeup for:

FOUR DOLLARS!

I got Loreal Cashmere Perfect foundation with free Line Minimizing (shhhh dont' tell) powder.  I had a 2 dollar off coupon for the first one.

I bought 1 color riche lipstick, had a 1 dollar coupon, and got one free.

I bought a volumizing mascara w/ a 1 dollar off coupon and got the second for 50% off.

Then I had a 5 dollar off a 20 dollar purchase coupon and extra CVS "bucks" for 5.00, 7.00, and 4.77 (approximately)

I don't wear makeup much, but I do wear it to church functions (never a lot, just a little bit, but I have splotchy skin and like to cover the redness, wear a tiny bit of lipstick and mascara) and to other meetings and such.

I also got a 13 dollar Burt's Bee's kit for 3.24!  Yay me!  And a gorgeous 2 piece valet and jewelry roll to add to a friend's birthday gift, regularly 15, on clearance for 3.74!  Woohoo!

There's more, but I won't bore you with all the details.  LOL  Those were my best deals.

For the rest of the month I have to seriously cut back on my CVS spending addiction!  I need to only use my CVS bucks to generate MORE CVS bucks.  Free stuff!  Gotta love that.

Oct. 8, 2006 - some good deals this week!

Posted by journeybackintime

I know, I got this week's circular in the newspaper today and I was so happy to see all of the stuff free after rebate! I picked up most of what was available and will pick up the rest later this week. I'm trying to break my spending into 2 days so that I can keep rotating those ExtraCare Bucks. I didn't pick up any of the make-up because I have plenty, but I will get ALL of the free after rebate items whether I'll use them or not. What I won't use, I'll donate to our local women's shelter. Gotta love CVS! I still have a few more things at Walgreens and Rite-Aid to pick up. It's been a good month for getting things free at these stores!

We actually don't have a CVS close by us so it wouldn't be practical to go there. But I never see the bargains you see. Is it like Walgreens where a lot of it is in the rebate booklet in the store? And then do you use regular coupons and then the bonus CVS bucks? Does all this combine to get those freebies etc.? Blessings. Enjoying your adventures in savings land immensely. I understand about church and not wanting to leave the house. I get that way a lot and have to push myself. Plus I have not found a home church since I am a shy introvert that does not look forward to visiting new churches to find a home church.

Boy, you're really getting the bargains - good for you! I can relate to the not-wanting-to-leave thing. I had serious issues with this as a single young adult. I even had to quit my job. Something like agoraphobia, which just means one has some type of fear of going out. It has happened to me over the years from time to time, not as bad as long ago, thankfully. It seems that the more I stay home, the harder it is to leave. So, getting out more is definitely a big help and makes the next outing easier. And, hey, it's great to find others who like (or used to like) Depeche Mode. I've never met anyone here in Oregon who's even heard of them and they were, like, huge! Anyway, take care and keep going to church. God will definitely bless you there!

Wow, that's a ton of stuff for that amount, what a great deal you got!

I rarely go to our CVS, but I have been in there once or twice to get some Burt's Bees lip balm. I love that stuff. So, my question is - was the Burt's Bees kit you found just marked down, or did you have a coupon or use a special promotion to get it? I'll definitely go to mine to check it out if it was just marked down to that great of a price.

Thanks for the tips!

Have a great day,
Stacy
