I have 5 more days minus my almost-constant companion, Mike, my 16yos.

He got to fly to California to stay & visit with my mom. First time for him to take a plane (He loved it!) and first time really to find out who my mom is. I don't think he remembers her at all, or very dimly at least, as it's been several years since she's been here to visit. He flew out on Wednesday and comes back this coming Wednesday.
Yesterday she took him (via FREE tickets from a friend) to Disneyland. This was a total surprise for him. Tomorrow, they go down to Legoland. He is downright ecstatic over that! Mom managed to win free tickets! I just am flabbergasted at how she's able to orchestrate all this! LOL The round-trip plane tickets and him staying there are her Christmas present to him.
My husband ended up working 23 hours on Thursday, getting to work at 7am and getting home yesterday around 8am.
(The client at the Dallas Convention Center ended up working all night and they are supposed to have a Stage Manager there as long as a client is. No communication though happened and he didn't think they'd be there that late... with only 4 hours sleep the night before, he was pretty out of it. Have I mentioned he's been working almost constantly? They need to hire some more people!)
Anyway, they sent him home. While I went to a dog show at Will Rogers Colliseum Exhibit Hall for an hour plus, and then printed one of my three newsletters afterwards, he napped... I came home with a horrid headache (sinus most likely) so laid down in bed with him about 1:30 and we didn't get up til 3pm. Left the house to go to Fry's at 4pm (got to get us a new DVD/VHS player/recorder since ours died), then to eat at Red Lobster (coupons & gift cards from our Discover credit card), and because we got there too late (with them telling us an hour plus wait at 6:30), we went to The Parks Mall in Arlington (just "next door") and I got to get fitted and buy a couple of bras. Then went back to Red Lobster and had a wonderful meal - Lobster & steak for me -- and I get to eat my steak for lunch today! We got home by 10:15pm. Over an hour after my dh needed to be in bed to get a good night's sleep for today's schedule, but we were snug under the electric blanket by 11pm. (It's turned nippy here in North Central Texas - the low last night was supposed to be 38ºF.
I can't speak highly enough of getting oneself fitted for a bra on a regular basis (meaning when it's time to buy some more, maybe every other year or yearly?). Dillard's are wonderful and they do a great professional job for a potentially very embarrassing event. Nice to have the right size to buy!
Since we got a late start, I diodn't get to go looking for any of the other things on my list. I need some new jeans, a 36-39" shelf to act like a faux mantle, some paint, and I really want to try on some Spanx.
So, today, I get to go shopping with a friend. I called her and her husband encouraged her to go & get out without the kids! So it should be a fun afternoon!
This morning, I have caught up on my HOO Message board forums. Lots of new activity there and getting new members joining.. It's exciting to help those with only one to teach!
I still have to create & finish one of my three monthly print newsletters that I do. I want to get it out to the Exec. Board of that group tomorrow or Monday.
AND I'm excited to announce that I will be having a weekly column on Homeschool Blogger's Front Porch every Friday! I have some writing to do on that also! I have a major deadline looming there! LOL
Well, time to eat lunch (YUM) and get dressed... if I can, I'll get started on my final newsletter so there will be something done before I get back home later.
Blessings on your Saturday!
