Kathy of the HavinsNest asked: So what is the verdict on the car?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, the fuel pump needed replacing, to the tune of $700+! Yuck! But it's a done deal so the car is running ok now.
We didn't think to do it Monday of this week (when it got fixed), so I went by today to see if they could see anything amiss with the suspension. Both Glenn & I have been "feeling something funny" -- I describe it as "the whole car feels loose" -- when we've driven it separately. Well, it needs both front struts & mounts, right outer tie rod, and an alignment (and some new tires), all to the tune (not counting the tires) of $1,257.80. We're planning to get a second quote elsewhere on this. It's also not necessarily critical and can wait a little bit they said.
And the dog is having surgery on April 21st - that will be another $700+ item. |
He said struts are expensive so this may be the best price you get.They must be done before the tires and the alignment are done (tires and alignment must be done together).
Good Luck. We feel your pain. Terry's car is getting to the point of needing new struts, too. Thankfully, he can does that stuff himself.
