So, this morning I went ahead and borrowed a car to drive myself,
We spent about 3 hours at the orphanage this morning. Holding the babies and playing with the toddlers. I think it was really good to have
A long time ago thanks to Five in a Row, the homeschool curriculum we were using, we starting learning American Sign Language. I really enjoyed it and kept at it for a few years.
Today I found out why I learned ASL all those years (and moves) ago.
He is 2.5 years old and he is deaf. He has never been able to communicate with anyone … I so hope that I can be a blessing!!! He is such a little cutie. I had a little sampling today of the trial it will be to teach sign language to someone that is deaf. Much different from teaching it to my children that could hear my words and see my actions. hum ... I’ll have to work with the caregivers as well, that will be the easier of the two tasks. Off to make some lesson plans... Ü
The afternoon saw us girls enjoying lunch out and then they spent the afternoon up in Addison’s room- they didn’t even ask to do anything. They were simply content and busy to be playing. (That is so nice!) The guys had two friends come around and they went to the Embassy pool for a swim. It’s pizza and movie night- tonight we are watching Duplicity. I love Fridays! |

The girls busied them selves playing games in the morning:
Phase Ten, Chinese Checkers, Scatergories, Mother May I & Hit the Deck were a few of the games I caught them playing.
They had lunch outdoors, which prompted us to have the table moved to the covered patio. —too much sunshine.
After lunch they watched a Veggie Tales movie (gotta love VT!) and
We were joined by
They had fun and were so bright and colorful by the time everyone was finished. It was a busy full day! |

A little while ago I went into Oh, but that was so hard to tell her! It was much harder still- to hold her as she sobbed out her heart. She knows that his little body had suffered so much, that he was in much pain and that now he is resting in the love and comfort of our saviors arms….she knows that she was able to be a blessing of happiness while she was with him and singing to him about Jesus love. … she knows that with all of his medical problems his life was going to be one of much pain and suffering….it doesn’t make it any easier. As I just walked past her bedroom, she was sitting on her bed, head bent over a journal … I am betting she was writing a song about a baby boy. ….. my poor baby. |

This morning for breakfast I made up:
a batch of strawberry muffins
strawberry banana yogurt (from scratch-still LoViNg it, it was SO nice!!)
and OJ, pineapple and banana fruit smoothies.
At our place we had two sittings. The first sitting was for the four of us that were awake, before the guys headed off to work for the day…
the second sitting was for one little sleepy-headed beauty. Ü After the princess had her brekkie, we hit the road with our handy-dandy-taxi-dude. Today we went to all of the memorials and monuments in the city. It was a nice full day. There were a number of stops and a ton of pictures to be had. After our full outing, we stopped to grab some grub at a nice café right down the road from our house. On the way home this sign caught my eye ..
What? You can’t read it? Oh, Here ya go:
Ya, remember those open sewers from the Hazards of Street Walking post a few days back? ….
Just outside our front door there are drinking coconuts for sale.
Today, we stopped to buy one on our way home.
I really am a chicken. Ü As the family was sitting down to dinner… “Mom, did you bake that bread today?”
“Why, what would make you think that I made this beautiful loaf of bread ?” “Oh, I don’t know.... maybe because you’ve taken, like, 12 pictures of it.”
I am so transparent! Ü It was REALLY good bread. Hope your Monday was full of wonderful things. I *love* my job!!! |
