A great finish to 21 wonderful lessons!

Posted in Kiddos

Tonight was very special night. Addison had finished her Princess and the Kiss Bible study this afternoon. So tonight was the night…

Dylan & I set the table- tablecloth, candle, fancy glasses , framed picture of Addison… Everything was ready.

Dylan & I had cooked all of Addison’s favorites: macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, Vanilla Coke. Paul & Dev swung by KFC and brought home popcorn chicken. (Addison knew nothing about it) Everything was in the oven staying warm while ….

I called the kids upstairs to eat dinner…

in the front room there were 3 chairs- Paul sat in one with his Kingly (a quick duck into Burger King) crown on, I was on the other side wearing my crown & the middle chair had a princess hat in it waiting for our princess to arrive. The boys sat across as our audience.

We placed the princess hat on Addi’s head and Paul read us all the story The Princess and the Kiss. Addison was just grinning from ear to ear.  After he finished the story I told Addison how much I enjoyed our time studying together- what a gift she was to our family and that our prayer is that she hide all of those verses and lessons deep in her heart where they can protect her as she matures and grows. Focusing on her purity and on her being a sparkling diamond for her future husband, we talked about her waiting for the person God has made just for her.

Paul then said a blessing on Addison, and he asked her if she would accept the special gift we had for her. She did, so we went over the symbols on her gift- the prayer necklace.

A cross- to remind her that Jesus is the greatest gift ever given.

A heart- to remind you that if Christ is the center of your heart, you will have a sincere desire to be pure for him.

A “P”- for purity & to remind her she is God's princess

The kiss- to remind her she only has one first kiss- to be wise and save it for the man she will marry. It also represents her purity a gift to be opened when she marries.

The chain- Proverbs 1:7-9. …for they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head , and chains about thy neck.”

The prayer box- to show her she is surrounded by prayer.

After that we (all four of us) surrounded Addison like a box- we all held hands and prayed for her- it was really a special time with the boys taking part in praying for their sister and al of us pledging to be there to help her, guide her and pray for her as she grows.

Next it was time to sit at the table and serve our special dinner—Addison was thrilled with all of her favorites. We ended the special evening with Paul sitting on the couch while Addison took him through her Princess & the Kiss Journal… which is a treasure in itself.

It was a wonderful study to go through with Addison~ we both enjoyed it so much and this was just the perfect way to end the study and make it meaningful for Addi. Score!

What a beautiful experience this must have been for Addi. I am sure that it is something that she will remember forever. I may just have to have a closer look at this book and study :) What a wonderful family, dad, brothers and Mum that Addi is blessed with.

Your family is so amazing, and it's so terrific that Paul is such a hands on daddy even though, he's probably so busy. The boys as well...such supportive brothers and great role models, and Addison is such a beautiful person in her own right.

Of course, this all comes together because you're an incredible wife and mother. We should all have a family as terrific as yours.

What a wonderful way to celebrate having Addi in your life!

May God bless her and cause her to grow even more in godliness. May she be called "blessed".
