So, God has been working for three years at an orphanage here getting everything ready for me to have a project while in This is a private orphanage. One lady has spent the last three years funding the home herself, training and paying her staff, watching and caring for the children… she is an inspiration. What an amazing story and what a heart for the Lord! Currently she has about 30 kids in the home with a few more out on home stays. Over 80 have come through her doors and been taken to new homes. She has been working so hard – doing an amazing work… I can’t wait to make it a little easier on her, to come along side her and help share some of the burden while we are here and able. I am humbled by the work she has done, excited for the projects that I can come up with and ready to start making a small difference in the lives of these sweet precious little ones while I am here! So get ready—you’ll be hearing a lot about the work going on here. You KNOW how I go super fast (and on and on and on) when I get excited? Ya, I am so there!! I am really excited to get a few things going … baby holding, story time, music class, preschool lessons, reading lessons, game days and staff training just to start. Wanna bring your church over for a mission trip? Wanna send some cashola to go towards the building of a facility? (She has already purchased the land.) Wanna sale some Ghanaian items with all proceeds to go towards the orphanage? Wanna collect diapers/ formula to send over? Wanna get in on some fund raising projects? Wanna have your children’s class sponsor a little one or sponsor a music teacher or pay for the electric bill or ….. ? Does your ladies Bible study want to pay for some resources for the deaf or for the medicine the HIV positive kids need? It is going to be a great two years. “Doing what we can, where we are!!”
