Lupton's Loving Life

Friday the 3rd

So, this morning I went ahead and borrowed a car to drive myself, Addison, Emily and Sarah up to the orphanage.     I was such the happy girl to be behind a wheel! I can't wait for my car to arrive!!!

We spent about 3 hours at the orphanage this morning. Holding the babies and playing with the toddlers. I think it was really good to have Addison straight back in there loving on those babies.

A long time ago thanks to Five in a Row, the homeschool curriculum we were using,  we starting learning American Sign Language. I really enjoyed it and kept at it for a few years.

Today I found out why I learned ASL all those years (and moves) ago.

He is 2.5 years old and he is deaf. He has never been able to communicate with anyone … I so hope that I can be a blessing!!!  He is such a little cutie. I had a little sampling today of the trial it will be to teach sign language to someone that is deaf. Much different from teaching it to my children that could hear my words and see my actions.  hum ... I’ll have to work with the caregivers as well, that will be the easier of the two tasks. Off to make some lesson plans... Ü

The afternoon saw us girls enjoying lunch out and then they spent the afternoon up in Addison’s room- they didn’t even ask to do anything. They were simply content and busy to be playing. (That is so nice!)  The guys had two friends come around and they went to the Embassy pool for a swim.

It’s pizza and movie night- tonight we are watching Duplicity.

I love Fridays!
