Anyways- I had told Joce about it earlier in the week & Dev was keen to teach her how to play … so they were off. When Liz arrived she just had to have a go- and Dylan hopped in to make the game more of a challenge- those Brien’s, they just need to be taken down a peg or two (giggle giggle).
Mean while over on the carpet … there were four little girls playing with their dolls … and having a grand time!
The evening ended with Addison at a Rachel's 12th birthday party- a dance party. She had a ball! While Addi was at Rachel's the boys were working at Lorenzy's 7th birthday party as slaves for the girls for the night. It was a hoot!
Busy. Busy. Fun. Fun. |

Today the boys had a science class at the Botanical Gardens where they learned about cryptogams. Cryptogams are plants that don’t have flowers or seeds. They went on a tour of the cryptogam herbarium and heard about the work being done there. Then they had a hands-on workshop on identifying and grouping cryptogams using microscopes. Both of the boys enjoyed the class a lot and came home to fill my ears with facts this evening. While the boys were at the Gardens hard at work-- Addi and I had 6 moms and their kiddos over for scrapbooking. Well, you know that is what I call the day but really the ladies are working on all sorts of things- knitting, quilting, doll making, scrapbooking, curriculum selection, card making-- anything goes over here on Fridays! I so love this time to catch up with everyone. All of the kids get a long so well together that it is nearly always a joy... and when it's not it makes for great stories! (ha ha giggle giggle)
Once everyone cleared out Devon drove me down so we could pick up Chinese food for din-din tonight, we tried a new place that was recommended and it was pretty yum. Dev only has 4 more months and he can drive by himself in the car-- So, he is busy getting as much time in behind the wheel as he can now.
The kids and I watched a couple of episodes of Happy Days Season 1 courtesy of Netflix just after dinner. The kids are thinking that is a funny show – they do think the Fonz is cool, but then again who doesn’t think the Fonz was?! And what about the big brother Chuck... he is in season 1 and then... he is just gone. Isn't it funny how they do that sometimes.
Oh, speaking of old TV shows… I don’t think I shared this. Dylan saw and checked out The Six Million dollar Man Season 1 from the library, and we are down to our last disc on that. Now, there are a few of you that should be smiling big right now because you know…. and you know how sweet it was of him to get it for me. With both of those shows it is so funny to see how rough the first season were- and it will be fun to watch the characters progress a they find their nitch in the show in later episodes. Heck, Steve’s bionics don’t even make noise in the first season. But the funniest thing is … Addi is just LOVING the bionic man and she thinks Steve Austin is cool. (That apple doesn’t fall far does it?)
Around 8:00 Jocelyn came by and we watched A Good Year. I have said it before, but I really do like that movie. I had talked about it to her so much, you know how when you do that it never lives up to the hype? I love the line where she says, “…. No Max, your life doesn’t fit in this place.” Well, I have really rambled a lot tonight over nothing… Yikes, it’s just like you were talking to me in person huh?! You know what happens when I stay up too late… So off to bed, we have CYM in the morning and have to leave the house at 8:00. Sleep well and enjoy that spring weather … as we are slipping into some cold spells this autumn.

We had a busy Friday here with 8 crafters in the front room and all kiddos running around. It was a great way to spend a Friday, chatting with friends, working on my scrapbook layouts, card making, sorting photos and even some sewing was happening over here. We enjoyed a lunch together and the afternoon flew until it was time for all to pack up and head home. While the moms were busy with craft the boys were creating on their own, legos, and game of Settlers of Catan, followed by an all out war- I am not sure that any side won the day- I think they were all winners for the fun they had! The girls were puppies, ponies & princesses as the day wore on… as all girls should be. Paul arrived home from work as the last of the group was heading out. He came in and asked if I wanted to go out. So, the two of us headed out for a quick bite and watched a silly, fun movie that is just out, Boss Hogs. Our kiddos ate the dinner that was in the crock pot and a few episodes of Hogan's Hero's that arrived from Netflixs. Ahhh... that's my kinda day- scrapbooking with friends all day and a movie night with my guy in the evening !! BLISS. I hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend! |

Today was the first Friday scrappin’ day at my house. Jocelyn and Michelle came over for a short while. They both had places to run off to today. The great things about having a day set aside for scrap booking with different people that come over are:
1. There is usually a good flow and mix of people. Some came make it one time others the next. There are usually a few die hards that come each week. 2. It's a no pressure day- You come if you can and if not... make it the next go 'round. 3. hosting a scrap booking day makes it so I have to scrap. Bummer, I know! I am looking forward to getting pages done while visiting and getting to everyone better. So, if you are free on a Friday from 10- whenever, pop on over I will be thinking of all of you that are just too far to make it~ with fond memories! Happy scrappin’ wherever you are!

Today was another perfect day with Lori Ann here. We enjoyed an entire day of scrapbooking… and only left to grab the pies for tonight’s pizza and movie night! We have so much fun being together…we don’t need to do anything. Lori did have the chance to play a few hands of UNO with the kids this morning… “check check…” The kids are still on the light school schedule of math, music and reading. Back to the full schedule on Monday… I have a folder under my pictures that is called “from friends”. We add in the pictures that get sent out as attachments from all of you… and all the pictures flip through a slide show on the computer. It is so fun to see your smiling faces. Today we had updated pictures from Cheryl’s family. They are just now settling into |

If you have known us long you know that Friday night is Pizza and Movie Night around here. Aunt Faith & Uncle Wally got Paul and I hooked on that back in '89 and we've been doing it ever since. We do not receive any television stations here in
We do work our way through movies and old TV shows on DVD. If you were going to come on over for some pizza and to catch a flick sometime soon you might catch us watching some of these movies. Or use them as a recommendation for your next trip to Blockbuster for your family movie night. Pass the pizza, grab me a cold cream soda and sit back to watch..... TV shows: Little House on the Prairie We are working our way slowly through Season four . We try to watch two episodes per week, if we can hold out that long. How can you not love Pa and Laura?! We have many family sayings and life lessons that come from LHOTP. Our favorite one is most likely, "Nobody likes a Nellie" Seventh Heaven Shush… the kids are going to receive the first season for Easter. Our family used to really enjoy watching this show, it was always good for opening up discussions and teachable moments. Movies: Hallmark’s Love Comes Softly, Loves Enduring Promise and Loves Long Journey. My mom just sent us these movies Felcity AG The Newest American Girl Movie was really well done. The American Girl movies are ones that I buy "for Addi" and then get drawn into the story myself. Good for the whole family. LOTR extended versions: We just finished watching all three of the extended movies. We were thrilled with all of the additional scenes! It did take us a few sittings to get through them all. We enjoyed them so much we decided that we would listen to the books on tape (again) while driving, during our vacation next week.

with your kiddos and your supplies, bring your lunch with you and come get some pages or cards finished.
No worries.
and we really enjoyed watching them. They show and tell of Gods provision, blessing and love. We laughed, we cried, we loved them.
